Classic car enthusiasts and Madonna fans alike will be thrilled as a rare piece of both music and automotive history goes under the hammer this October. A 1967 Jaguar Mark X 4.2, once owned by the Queen of Pop herself, is set to be auctioned by H&H Classics at the Imperial War Museum, Duxford, on Wednesday, 9th October.

The world-famous singer purchased this luxurious classic in 2021 for her son, Rocco Ritchie, and since then, it has been driven regularly by the model and artist. Primarily used in and around London, the car has become a familiar sight as Rocco builds his creative career. In fact, Madonna was recently photographed posing with the car, a moment that made its way onto her Instagram and into the national press.

A Rare Classic with Celebrity Provenance

This Jaguar Mark X 4.2 is not only rare due to its limited production run of just 5,137 units, but it also carries the cachet of being purchased by one of the most iconic performers in modern music. For classic car collectors, this is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to own a vehicle with both historical significance and pop-culture prestige.

Lucas Gomersall, motor car specialist at H&H Classics, commented: “It’s incredible to be offering a Jaguar for sale with such close connections to Madonna, and I’m sure fans and collectors will be hung up on this Mark X. Beyond its celebrity ownership, this 4.2-litre version of the Mark X is a true rarity that was only in production for two years.”

Jaguar Mark X: A Luxurious Legacy

When the Jaguar Mark X was launched, it was designed to appeal to the luxury car market, particularly in North America, where Jaguar hoped to attract high-profile buyers such as heads of state and celebrities. With its impressive technical innovations—like independent rear suspension, which was a rarity for British luxury cars in the early 1960s—the Mark X stood out as a symbol of cutting-edge engineering. Capable of reaching 120 mph and offering superior handling, it was an appealing alternative to the Rolls-Royce Silver Cloud, but at less than half the price.

This particular model has been freshly repainted in Opalescent Maroon, restoring its original allure. In addition, the car comes with its original green log book, adding another layer of authenticity to its storied past.

A Car That Remains ‘In Vogue’

Madonna’s ownership of the Jaguar adds a touch of glamour to this already distinguished car. As Lucas pointed out, “It’s a car that will always remain in vogue.” The upcoming auction offers collectors a unique chance to acquire a British motoring masterpiece with a pop culture twist, with bidding starting at no reserve.

For more information on this extraordinary Jaguar and its upcoming auction, visit the H&H Classics website. Don’t miss the opportunity to own a piece of both automotive and pop history.
