MACINTYRE TRANSPORT TAKES FIRST RENAULT TRUCKS RANGE T IN FELIXSTOWE
Container transport and haulage company, MacIntyre Transport Ltd, has taken delivery of the first Renault Trucks Range T 460.25 6×2 TML E6 in Felixstowe. The Range T, supplied by Renault Trucks Felixstowe, is also the first Euro 6 truck to join MacIntyre’s mixed fleet of Renault Trucks, Mercedes, Volvo and Scanias, and sees the number of 44 tonne tractor units increase to 155 trucks. The new truck is part of MacIntyre Transport’s organic growth strategy that builds capacity every year and will see the company strengthen its fleets located at its Felixstowe and Southampton sites.
The new Range T will run out of MacIntyre Transport’s Felixstowe hub, delivering general container haulage for logistics companies and shipping lines across the UK.
Fuel economy is a priority for MacIntyre Transport. The new Range T is fitted with full air management kit and comes with Renault Trucks’ Fuel Eco pack to drive fuel efficiency with tools and fuel saving features that include a five month free trial of Renault Trucks’ Optifleet telematics solution.
Commenting on the decision to lease the Range T for 24 months, Paul Miller, Managing Director, MacIntyre Transport says: “The time is right to try out Euro 6. Renault has always been a good fleet truck, and we have 15 Renault Premiums that run out of our Selby site.”
Renault Trucks Felixstowe approached us with the right deal at the right time and although we normally lease over three or four years, we decided that a 24 month lease gave us enough time to evaluate the Range T in operation. It will be covering 1,400 to 1,600 miles per week, and we expect good fuel returns.”
