MACBOR: the ambitious challenge of the MOTOS BORDOY GROUP
MACBOR is the owned Brand of the Motos Bordoy Group, one of the most important motorcycle players in Spain.
Motos Bordoy Group, combining 3 different lines of business (importer, distributor and retailer), and dealing with many important brands such as SYM, QJ Motor, NIU, Kove (as exclusive importer), MV Agusta, Indian Motorcycles, Husqvarna (as exclusive retailer in Barcelona), achieved a significant 8.5% share over the total spanish motorcycle market.
Motos Bordoy began its journey in 1971 with a motorcycle store in Barcelona run by one of the best known names in the Spanish motorcycling scene, Jaime Bordoy, a passionate rider with several Spanish championships to his credit and a lover of two wheels with an exceptional business vision. Ten years after its inception, MOTOS BORDOY began to act as a brand distributor representing well-known motorcycle brands such as Malaguti, Cagiva, Ducati, MV Agusta and Husqvarna. It also set foot in the equipment sector by successfully launching its own brand of technical motorcycle clothing XC-TING (from 1999 to 2008).
The growth of MOTOS BORDOY has paralleled the growth of the motorcycle industry in Spain.
After more than 50 years of history, MOTOS BORDOY has become a solid and dynamic group of companies that despite all the changes it has seen, the MOTOS BORDOY Group is still true to its original identity: passion for motorcycles and close approach.
In 1999, motivated by the long experience gained so far in the world of two wheels, MOTOS BORDOY decided to take a step further by giving life to its own brand of motorcycles: MACBOR.
MACBOR: from a bet to a reality.
Born with children’s bikes for initiation and competition in 1999, MACBOR then enters, in 2017, in the market of light gear bikes (125/250cc) and, after only 3 years, manages to position itself as a leader in the 125cc light gear bike market. That same year (2020) MACBOR makes the leap to medium displacement with the launch of its twin-cylinder trail – the Montana XR5 500 – first, and then the Eight Mile 500 Street and Scrambler and enters the Portuguese market as the first step of its international expansion.
Thanks to the excellent quality/price ratio of its products and the excellent after-sales service, as well as the strong personality of its brand and the differential and authentic contact with its customers, MACBOR has asserted itself as a relevant and solvent player in the motorcycle market.
MACBOR: motorcycles with soul from Barcelona.
All MACBOR motorcycles share the same common denominator: design, excellent value for money and a unique personality to achieve, in Macbor slang, “motorcycles with soul”.

Afterwards a first phase of product development in OEM mode, in which MACBOR developed its products from existing platforms in collaboration with major international manufacturers, the Barcelona firm has embarked in 2021 on a new path that goes through the design “made in Barcelona” now in 3 first models and for the entire range in the future. The first results of this new phase are the new Montana XR1, Rockster and Rockster Flat: 3 models that, since 2017, are the top Sellers of the Brand and that are now presented completely renewed and with a design that now makes them unique.
That’s why of the slogan that MACBOR has chosen to present itself at this 80th edition of the International Motorcycle Show in Milan and to address its future international partners: “MACBOR, motorbikes with soul from Barcelona”.
