Today almost all Google Country Specific search engines have changed from the default Google Logo to the Google Doodle celebrating the life of Ludwig Mies van der Rohe who immigrated to the USA in 1937 to become the master of modern-day architecture in the world.
In the Google Doodle of March 27th 2012 one can actually see one of the buildings that he have designed and created. It is the well-known Crown Hall Building on the Campus of Illinois at the Institute of technology. The Crown Hall Building is a National Historic Landmark in the United States of America. Ludwig Mies van der Rohe has designed many buildings across the USA that has become National Landmarks across the Country.
In Washington we have the Martin Luther King Junior Memorial Library, the Lafayette Park in Detroit, the TD Centre Pavilion in Toronto Canada and the High field House in Baltimore these are just some of the building which Ludwig Mies van der Rohe helped design and develop. Ludwig Mies van der Rohe did not only create and design buildings in the USA, Germany and Canada but also assisted with buildings in Mexico, Spain and Czech Republic he also influenced architecture in countries like the United Kingdom, Australia, South Africa and Italy and on this day remember as the father and master of modern-day architecture.
Ludwig Mies van der Rohe believed in simple is more and he brought a clean, practical design to modern-day architecture that has stood the test of time. Today we are celebrating his 126th Birthday and his architecture style and the impact he have made in the world.
