London, 29 January 2025 – One fortunate motorist from Lincolnshire is celebrating after winning a brand-new OMODA 5 crossover SUV, courtesy of a competition run by The Sun newspaper late last year.
Simon Jackson, from Grantham, was randomly selected as the lucky winner and has now taken delivery of his OMODA 5 Comfort – a cutting-edge crossover worth over £25,000. The feature-packed vehicle includes twin 10.25-inch high-resolution screens, wireless phone charging, and a rear parking camera as standard, bringing a modern driving experience to its new owner.
Picking up his new car from Drayton Motors OMODA in Grantham, Simon was ecstatic. “Winning the OMODA 5 couldn’t have come at a better time – it’s an absolute game-changer for me,” he said.
Simon had been contemplating upgrading his decade-old car in favour of an automatic, due to a knee condition that makes manual gear shifting difficult. “I think automatics are fantastic, and the OMODA will keep me going for a long time,” he added. “It’s a great-looking car with so many fantastic features that I’m not used to in my old one.”
A passionate football fan, Simon plans to put his OMODA 5 to good use by following his beloved Nottingham Forest across the country. “I don’t play football anymore, but I love watching it live,” he said. “Following Nottingham Forest home and away will be much easier and more enjoyable with the OMODA 5. I’m also the secretary of a local club, Harrowby United, so the new car will be invaluable for getting to matches.”
Beyond football, Simon and his partner Michelle have a range of road trips planned. “We have friends in Suffolk we visit regularly, and we’ve also got tickets to several concerts this year,” he said. “Now we can really arrive in style!”
The OMODA 5 and its all-electric sibling, the OMODA E5, officially launched in the UK in August 2024, marking the brand’s debut in the market. Since then, OMODA&JAECOO has made a significant impact, with 3,838 vehicles registered across its network of over 70 dealers. The petrol-powered OMODA 5 accounted for over 70% of these sales.
