12th March 2025 – A new era of British automotive innovation begins with the official unveiling of Longbow, the nation’s first dedicated electric sportscar manufacturer. Setting a new benchmark for performance, weight, and driving engagement, Longbow introduces the world’s first Featherweight Electric Vehicles (FEVs) with the Speedster and Roadster. These handcrafted, ultra-lightweight electric sportscars redefine what it means to drive electric, offering an unrivaled combination of agility, beauty, and exhilarating real-road performance.

The Speed of Lightness: A New Category in Electric Performance

Longbow’s ethos, encapsulated in its Latin motto Celeritas Levitas (the speed of lightness), drives the company’s pioneering approach. By blending meticulous engineering, lightweight construction, and a purist driver experience, the Speedster and Roadster pay homage to British automotive icons like the Lotus Elise and Jaguar E-Type, while forging a new future for electric performance cars.

Each model is built on a bespoke Longbow aluminium chassis designed for maximum stiffness and minimal weight, achieving an extraordinary sub-1000kg kerb weight. In contrast to conventional battery-electric vehicles that often exceed 1,500kg, Longbow’s focus on featherweight design enhances agility, efficiency, and driving pleasure.

Speedster & Roadster: Electrifying the Lightweight Sportscar

Both models share Longbow’s advanced electric powertrain, offering breathtaking performance figures and a dynamic driving experience.

  • Speedster: A pure open-top driving experience, the Speedster weighs an astonishing 895kg, propelling from 0-62mph in just 3.5 seconds. With a WLTP range of 275 miles, it starts at £84,995 (incl. VAT), with production limited to just 150 hand-built units. Exclusive Luminary 1st Edition (10 units) and Autograph Edition (25 units) models are also available for reservation.
  • Roadster: A closed-cockpit counterpart to the Speedster, the Roadster maintains the lightweight ethos at 995kg. It achieves 0-62mph in 3.6 seconds and starts at £64,995 (incl. VAT). Reservations are now open for the 50-unit Luminary 1st Edition and 100-unit Autograph Edition.

Both vehicles promise a driving experience that is immersive, responsive, and exhilarating—recapturing the essence of sportscar purity in an all-electric future.

A Founding Team of Industry Pioneers

Longbow’s leadership brings together a powerhouse of expertise from the world’s most pioneering EV and high-performance brands.

  • Daniel Davey & Mark Tapscott – Veterans of Tesla and Lucid, instrumental in shaping the early electric vehicle revolution, now bringing their expertise to an entirely new sportscar category.
  • Jenny Keisu – Former CEO of electric marine innovator X Shore, combining business acumen with a deep passion for sustainable performance.

With a team boasting experience across Formula E, Lotus, Aston Martin, Ariel, and Tesla, Longbow is positioned to revolutionize the electric sportscar market.

Longbow Unveils The Worlds First Featherweight Electric Vehicles The Speedster And Roadster

Handcrafted Excellence, Made in Britain

Longbow vehicles will be designed, engineered, and hand-built in the UK, benefiting from Britain’s world-class motorsport and high-performance automotive ecosystem. Situated among Formula 1 and Formula E teams, Longbow harnesses cutting-edge expertise to create the ultimate driver’s cars for the modern era.

Leveraging a competitive global supply chain and industry-proven EV components, Longbow’s state-of-the-art powertrain delivers exceptional weight optimisation, efficiency, and range, ensuring that featherweight performance does not come at the cost of capability.

A New Icon for Driving Enthusiasts

Daniel Davey, Co-Founder and CEO, articulates Longbow’s mission:

“Amidst the e-mobility revolution, we have lost something important. Many modern ‘sportscars’ weigh over 1,500kg, while electric cars push beyond two tonnes. There is a need for a true driver-oriented, featherweight electric sportscar. That is why we have created Longbow. The Speedster and Roadster embody everything a modern enthusiast’s car should be: agile, balanced, electric, and exhilarating.”

Reservations Now Open

Longbow’s exclusive first-production run is now available for reservation, with deliveries slated for 2026. Enthusiasts looking to own a piece of electric performance history can secure their Speedster or Roadster now at longbowmotors.com.

With its bold vision and unwavering commitment to lightweight electric driving purity, Longbow is poised to redefine the sportscar for the modern enthusiast—proving that less weight, more soul, and pure electric performance are the future of driving passion.
