London – Longbow, the pioneering British electric sportscar company, has taken the automotive world by storm with the unveiling of its Aesthetic Dynamic Demonstrator for the Speedster – the first model in its Featherweight Electric Vehicle (FEV) line. The announcement marks a historic milestone: Longbow moved from initial sketch to a road-ready demonstrator in just six months, around a year faster than traditional OEMs.

Designed and built from a clean sheet, the Speedster embodies Longbow’s unique “Speed of Lightness” philosophy, combining lightweight construction, accessible performance, and a driver-focused ethos. At just 895kg, the Speedster establishes the all-new FEV category, offering an electrified experience previously unseen in British sportscars.

Speed of Lightness: From Concept to Road in Record Time

Longbow’s founders, leveraging over 15 years of experience at the forefront of the EV industry, have completely reimagined the traditional vehicle development cycle. What typically takes OEMs 18 months, Longbow achieved in just six. This accelerated timeline was not about cutting corners; it was a meticulously orchestrated process to condense, enhance, and optimise every stage of development. First customer deliveries are scheduled for 2026, with all Longbow vehicles designed, engineered, and hand-built in the UK.

A British Archetype, Reimagined

The Speedster revives the spirit of classic British lightweight sportscars, appealing to enthusiasts seeking a driver-centric, featherweight EV that is both attainable and thrilling. Drawing inspiration from icons such as the Lotus Elise and Jaguar E-Type, Longbow combines timeless design, lightweight engineering, and meticulous hand-finishing.

The Speedster’s two-tone design reflects the duality of the car: a nod to classic British sportscars at the front, with a modern electric vehicle architecture at the rear. Its bespoke aluminium chassis is engineered for maximum stiffness at minimal weight, paired with a compact electric motor and ‘module-to-chassis’ battery technology.

Performance with Purpose

Open-topped and exhilarating, the Speedster accelerates to 62mph in just 3.5 seconds and offers a WLTP range of 275 miles. Prices start at ₤84,995 (including VAT). Following the Speedster, Longbow will launch the closed-top Roadster, starting from ₤64,995 (including VAT). Reservations for both models are now open at longbowmotors.com.

CEO Daniel Davey on Longbow’s Milestone

“Speedster seems to have struck a chord with enthusiasts,” said Daniel Davey, Co-Founder and CEO of Longbow. “It’s a timeless blueprint with a twist, which was exactly what the market was missing. Inviting customers to this unveiling was our way of saying thank you. While Speedster defies convention, so too has our journey – delivering a Dynamic Demonstrator in just six months is no small feat, and it perfectly illustrates our Speed of Lightness approach.”

With the Speedster, Longbow not only delivers a revolutionary vehicle but also sets a bold new benchmark in the electric sportscar sector, redefining what is possible in lightweight, driver-focused electrification.
