Google Doodles – 5th August 2012 – London 2012
On the 5th of August 2012 Google changed their logo to the London 2012 Synchronised Swimming doodle. This is the second time in Doodle History that Google have used Synchronised Swimming as a logo the previous time was in 2004. In the London 2012 Synchronised Swimming image there are eight swimmers. These swimmers have synchronised to form the letter “o” in the Google doodle.
The rest of the Google words seem to float in the water. In the reflection of the water you can see the shadow of the swimmers, and doodle.
The London 2012 Synchronised Swimming event is on at the Olympics from the 5th of August 2012 untill the 10th of August 2012.
Synchronised swimming is one of the two Olympic sports that is exclusive to women (rhythmic gymnastics is the other) and a team of eight syncronised swimmers get together for a circular formation to replace the first ‘O’ of the Google logo floating in a pool.

- The London 2012 Synchronised Swimming pool at the London Olympics is 30 meters long, 25 meters wide and 3 meters deep.
- Rules of the London 2012 Synchronised Swimming stipulates that athletes cannot wear transparent swimsuits or any additional swimming clothes. a Nose clip is however allowed.
- In past Olympics Russia have dominated the event and have won most Gold medals, the USA are second favorites at the London 2012 Synchronised Swimming competition.
