Guild of Motoring Writers (GOMW) members with a passion for business media have just days remaining to submit their entries for the prestigious Prova PR Business Writer of the Year Award. With a £500 cash prize and a gleaming trophy on offer, the competition honours those who excel at explaining the intricate workings of the UK automotive industry.
This annual award, founded by Prova PR, recognises clarity of thought, depth of research, and the ability to distill complex topics into engaging, informative content. With the deadline looming on 30 September, Guild members still have a final chance to enter their best work, be it in print or online.
Last year, Jonathan Manning captured the title with a submission that impressed the judges for its insight into critical issues like cyberattacks, offering valuable takeaways for readers. Tom Geggus and Tim Wallace also earned commendations for their noteworthy contributions.

Eligible participants may submit up to three articles, showcasing their ability to explore the business side of the UK automotive sector. Judges will carefully assess these entries to create a shortlist of finalists, to be revealed in mid-November. Winners will then be celebrated at the Guild’s annual gala dinner at the prestigious Royal Automobile Club in Pall Mall, December.
For more details on entry requirements and guidelines, members are encouraged to visit the official awards page at GOMW Awards. Any inquiries or clarifications regarding the competition or Guild membership can be directed to Honorary Secretary, Richard Netherwood, at [email protected].
This award represents a remarkable opportunity for motoring writers to gain recognition for their expertise in automotive business journalism, so don’t miss the chance to enter and showcase your talent.
