Pretoria, 13 November 2015 – Land Rover has once again been given top honours at the 2016 People’s Wheels Awards. The Range Rover Evoque and Range Rover Sport took home awards in their respective categories, at the prize giving ceremony held at the Sandton Convention Centre in Johannesburg, this morning.
The Range Rover Evoque was voted most popular in the premium class SUVs and crossovers category. In its fourth year on sale the Range Rover Evoque has continued to prove popular with buyers, and has been at the top step of the People’s Wheels awards podium five times in a row – which includes taking home the overall honours at the 2013 ceremony.
The Range Rover Sport was another repeat winner, being voted most popular in the luxury SUVs and crossovers category. With four consecutive wins spanning two generations of the Range Rover Sport, this Land Rover’s off-road capabilities and on-road prowess have truly been recognised by both drivers and the general public.

Winners in the People’s Wheels Awards are chosen by the public, via an online open vote. All vehicles currently on sale in South Africa competed in 22 categories, ranging from entry-level models to highly desirable luxury cars.
