Centurion – 22 April 2010 – Land Rover Stellenbosch is Land Rover South Africa’s Dealer of the Year for 2009, having been awarded the prestigious title at a gala dinner held at the Oyster Box in Umhlanga.
“Land Rover Stellenbosch is the deserving recipient of the Dealer of the Year title for 2009, having excelled in both sales and after-sales delivery,” stated Andrew Daniel, managing director of Jaguar Land Rover South Africa.
“Although Land Rover has experienced exceptional growth in what has been an otherwise tough economic climate, it remains essential that all of our dealers strive for the highest levels of service excellence in every sphere. This enables us to match our customer’s expectations of a superlative ownership experience with the unrivalled qualities of our exceptional new product range.”
In receiving the coveted Dealer of the Year award, as well as the Committed to Service Excellence award, Mark Philp, dealer principal of Land Rover Stellenbosch, acknowledged the team effort that went into achieving this success.
“2008 was a tough year for all of us, but we decided to step up a gear and embarked on a strategy of managing our customer’s expectations, which clearly paid off in 2009,” a clearly elated Philp said. “The culture within our team is one of ongoing improvement, and we will continue to ensure that we meet the basic principles of business to remain viable and deliver exceptional customer service.”
Land Rover SA’s Top Sales Dealer award was shared by Land Rover Sandton and Land Rover Centurion, having both emerged as the leading retailers for the year.
Citing teamwork as key to its success, Jon Colman, dealer principal of Land Rover Sandton, said it was an honour to once again receive this title – particularly as it is the dealership’s fourth major award in the last four years, including Dealer of the Year in 2007 and Top Sales Dealer on three occasions.
“Our success can be attributed to the entire team remaining focussed on targets, and being both highly committed and incentive-driven. The great effort put in by all of our staff demonstrates the prestige that the awards carry in recognising the top performers.”
Craig Rohland, dealer principal of Land Rover Centurion, paid tribute to his committed sales team. “I owe this great achievement to Neels Rautenbach and his team. Without their passion for the brand, motivation and positive attitude, we would not have been able to achieve this award.”
The Top CSI Dealer award is presented to the dealer that consistently delivers excellent customer service. This is measured through the Tactix Programme, which is a daily Customer Satisfaction interview conducted by Conexus, a subsidiary of Synovate. Customer satisfaction scores are released on a monthly basis to dealers.
For 2009, the CSI award went to Land Rover North Western in Upington, and was received by dealer principal André van Niekerk. “Going Gold for Service, as our dealer slogan says, is an absolute goal and a way of life for our team. It is a privilege to receive this title in recognition of what we mean and do for our customers.”
Four Way Motor Land Rover in Vereeniging showed the best overall improvement in sales, CSI and parts to earn the Most Improved Dealer for 2009. Notably, It was also commended with the Embracer of the Brand and Best Retail Environment awards, with all three titles proudly taken home by dealer principal Harry Katrakillis.
Land Rover East Rand was named the Financial Services Dealer of the Year.
