RANGE ROVER EVOQUE IS PEOPLE’S CHOICE
- Award-winning Range Rover Evoque scoops most votes in 2013 People’s Wheels Awards

07 December 2012 – The Range Rover Evoque has received the most votes in the annual 2013 People’s Wheels Awards, reaffirming its popularity and adding yet another accolade to over 120 global awards. Initiated by Future Publishing, the poll – which uncovers by public vote the country’s most popular vehicles in 32 categories – was underpinned by an independent, objective vehicle ownership survey run by research house TNS designed to gauge satisfaction across automotive brands.
Jaguar Land Rover nameplates were recognised as Top Three contenders in six categories, eight products named amongst the best of their competitors. “It’s a clear indication of the popularity and excellence of the Jaguar Land Rover model range,” said Roland Reid, Marketing Director for Jaguar Land Rover South Africa.

In addition to receiving the most votes overall, the Range Rover Evoque was considered the best Town and Country SUV ahead of its stable-mate, the Land Rover Freelander. Confirming Land Rover’s dominance of the SUV market was the Range Rover Sport’s top ranking in the Luxury Tourers SUV category, which also saw the Land Rover Discovery – SA’s best-selling luxury SUV – ranking third.
Every Jaguar nameplate was recognised as amongst the best in their respective categories. The XJ was recognised as the best car for the Senior Executive, edging out Porsche’s Panamera and BMW’s 6-Series Gran Coupe. The XF range was recognised as amongst the best cars for the Junior Executive (third) while its performance flagship, the XFR, also ranked third amongst the High Performance Sedans.
Jaguar’s XK and XKR Convertibles also ranked third in the Designer Labels cabriolet category for performance convertibles, rounding off Jaguar Land Rover’s clutch of accolades.
