Škoda is preparing to redraw the boundaries of its electric portfolio with the arrival of the new Peaq, a flagship SUV that leans heavily into space, comfort and long-distance usability. Scheduled for a mid-2026 debut, the model evolves the bold ideas first seen in the Vision 7S concept into a production-ready offering that sits at the very top of the Czech brand’s range. Built on the Volkswagen Group’s MEB platform and produced in Mladá Boleslav, the Peaq is more than just a new model; it is a statement of intent as Škoda accelerates its transition into an electrified future.

At nearly 4.9 metres long, the Peaq becomes the largest vehicle the brand has ever produced, bringing genuine seven-seat practicality into the electric age. Its proportions translate into generous interior packaging, where passengers across all three rows benefit from impressive legroom and headroom. Even with all seats in place, the Peaq maintains everyday usability, while folding the third row opens up a substantial 890 litres of boot space. A 37-litre front storage compartment further enhances practicality, reinforcing Škoda’s reputation for clever, user-focused design.

The exterior introduces the most advanced execution yet of Škoda’s Modern Solid design language. A distinctive Tech-Deck Face replaces the traditional grille, its glossy black surface illuminated by subtle LED elements that create a strong visual signature. Matrix LED headlights with 18 segments enhance visibility while preserving safety for other road users, and large aerodynamically optimised wheels up to 21 inches complete a confident stance that balances presence with efficiency.

Inside, the Peaq takes a decisive step forward in both design and material execution. Five distinct interior themes cater to different tastes, ranging from understated textile finishes to high-end leather alternatives such as Techtona. Sustainability plays a central role, with several configurations incorporating more than 50 kilograms of recycled materials and offering fully animal-free compositions. Ambient lighting, a heated multifunction steering wheel and a highly configurable cabin environment come as standard, while the Sportline variant adds a more focused aesthetic with darker finishes and sportier detailing.

Comfort is elevated further through an optional Relax Package that transforms the cabin into a mobile retreat. AGR-certified seats with massage functionality, adjustable leg rests and integrated wellness programmes create an experience more akin to a lounge than a traditional vehicle interior. The system synchronises climate settings, lighting and seat functions through a dedicated wellness interface, offering modes designed to relax, stretch or re-energise occupants during long journeys.

A notable highlight is the introduction of a premium audio system developed in collaboration with Sonos. Known for its home audio expertise, Sonos brings its signature clarity and balance into the automotive environment, delivering an immersive soundscape that enhances both entertainment and relaxation. Combined with the Peaq’s refined cabin insulation, the result is a distinctly elevated in-car experience.

Technology plays a central role throughout the vehicle. A new Android-based infotainment system supports a wide range of applications, including integrated navigation and media streaming services, while a 13.6-inch vertical touchscreen serves as the command centre for most vehicle functions. A 10-inch driver display and an optional augmented-reality head-up display ensure that essential information remains easily accessible without distracting from the driving experience. The introduction of a digital mobile key further simplifies access, allowing drivers to use their smartphone or smartwatch in place of a traditional key.

The Peaq’s electric drivetrain is offered in three configurations, delivering outputs ranging from 150 kW to 220 kW. The flagship all-wheel-drive 90x variant accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in just 6.7 seconds, combining performance with the inherent stability of a low centre of gravity. Range is a key strength, with higher-spec versions capable of travelling more than 600 kilometres on a single charge. Fast-charging capability allows the battery to replenish from 10 to 80 percent in under half an hour, ensuring the Peaq remains practical for long-distance travel.

Beyond driving, the Peaq extends its functionality into everyday life through bidirectional charging capabilities. Vehicle-to-Load allows the battery to power external devices, from e-bikes to camping equipment, while Vehicle-to-Home functionality enables the car to supply energy back to a household or business. These features position the Peaq not just as a means of transport, but as an integrated part of a broader energy ecosystem.

Innovation also appears in smaller, thoughtful details that enhance usability. Flush door handles improve aerodynamics while maintaining ease of access, and a large panoramic roof with Dynamic Shade Control allows occupants to adjust light levels electronically across nine segments. Practical touches such as integrated washer systems in the wiper blades, wireless charging for multiple devices and additional USB ports throughout the cabin reinforce the vehicle’s everyday convenience.

The Peaq will also be offered in a Sportline variant from launch, bringing a more assertive design with blacked-out exterior elements, larger wheels and a sportier cabin layout. Enhanced seats, aluminium pedals and a three-spoke steering wheel contribute to a more dynamic character, appealing to drivers who value a sharper visual edge.

As Škoda moves to double its electric portfolio in 2026, the Peaq stands as a cornerstone of that strategy. It combines scale, efficiency and thoughtful innovation in a way that aligns closely with the brand’s core values, while pushing into more premium territory. With its blend of long-range capability, advanced technology and exceptional practicality, the Peaq signals a new chapter for Škoda, one defined by confidence, versatility and a clear commitment to sustainable mobility.
