Kia EV6 Named Best Car for Families and Dog Owners at Auto Trader Awards
The Kia EV6 has once again showcased its award-winning prowess at the Auto Trader New Car Awards 2024, securing the titles of ‘Best Car for Families’ and ‘Best Car for Dog Owners’.
Unlike traditional automotive awards, the Auto Trader New Car Awards are determined by the voices that matter most: car owners. This year, over 200,000 UK car owners participated in an online survey, sharing their real-world experiences and opinions, which determined the winners in 20 of the 23 award categories, including both of Kia’s accolades.
Launched in 2021, the Kia EV6 has become a staple in Kia’s acclaimed lineup. It was the first model to feature the new Kia badge following the company’s major rebranding effort. Now, more than three years later, the EV6 continues to garner accolades from top UK, European, and global publications.
With a practical range of up to 328 miles on a single charge, spacious seating for five, ultra-fast charging capabilities, and a comprehensive list of trim levels, the EV6 has evidently impressed UK customers with its family-friendly and pet-friendly features. Owners highlighted these attributes, leading to the EV6’s dual category wins.

Erin Baker, Auto Trader’s Editorial Director, praised the EV6’s achievements, stating: “The Kia EV6 excels as the best car for families and dog owners, combining practicality, technology, striking looks, and a superb driving experience. As one owner noted, ‘It is so easy and enjoyable to drive. The car is very comfortable with everything you need easily accessible.’ Another appreciated the ‘smooth driving experience and amazing interior space for passengers, including four-legged friends.’”
At last year’s Auto Trader New Car Awards, Kia’s electric vehicles also saw significant success, with the Soul EV being named ‘Best Value Electric Car’ and the EV6 earning the prestigious ‘New Car of the Year’ award.
The EV6 has set a high standard for Kia’s range of electric vehicles in the UK, a lineup that will expand later this year. As part of Kia’s ambitious ‘Plan S’ strategy, the brand aims to launch 15 EVs globally by 2027, with nine destined for the UK market. Following the successful introductions of the EV6 and EV9, the upcoming EV3 is expected to join the lineup later this year, hoping to replicate the success of its celebrated predecessors.
