(Seoul, January 8, 2025) – The Kia EV3 has solidified its position as a benchmark in electric mobility by winning the Compact SUV category at the prestigious 2025 Women’s World Car of the Year (WWCOTY) Awards. This accolade highlights Kia’s commitment to creating innovative, high-performing vehicles that deliver exceptional value for money.
Judged by a panel of 82 female automotive journalists from 55 countries, the WWCOTY Awards represent a global and diverse perspective on excellence in automotive design and engineering. The EV3 was evaluated against stringent criteria, including safety, quality, price, design, ease of driving, performance, and environmental impact. Outshining 11 competitors in its category, the EV3 was hailed for its outstanding blend of driving experience, cutting-edge technology, comfort, and affordability.
Setting New Standards in Electric Mobility
With a segment-leading range of up to 375 miles (WLTP), the Kia EV3 delivers unparalleled efficiency and convenience. Its advanced 400V fast-charging technology enables a charge from 10% to 80% in just 29 minutes, while a quick 15-minute top-up adds 125 miles of range, making it one of the most practical electric vehicles in its class.
The EV3’s design philosophy, inspired by Kia’s ‘Opposites United’ ethos, fuses modernity and nature to create a harmonious aesthetic. The 2.68-metre wheelbase and overall length of 4.30 metres ensure a spacious and versatile interior, designed with a living-room-inspired ambiance. Practicality is a priority, with a 460-litre boot featuring a two-tier floor for added flexibility and a 25-litre front trunk (frunk).

Recognizing Excellence and Global Appeal
The recognition of the EV3 at the WWCOTY Awards reflects Kia’s dedication to crafting vehicles that resonate with a wide demographic. Designed to broaden the appeal of electric mobility globally, the EV3 combines innovation and accessibility, appealing to a diverse audience while addressing environmental concerns.
“This recognition underscores the EV3’s global appeal and highlights its ability to meet the evolving preferences of drivers worldwide, particularly women, whose perspectives are pivotal in shaping the future of automotive design,” Kia stated.
Advancing to the Supreme Title
As the Compact SUV category winner, the EV3 joins five other category champions—4×4 and Pick-Up, Large SUV, Large Car, Performance and Luxury Cars, and Urban Model—in the final round of judging. The competition culminates in the announcement of the WWCOTY Supreme Winner on March 6, just ahead of International Women’s Day. Last year, the title was awarded to the Kia EV9, further cementing Kia’s reputation as a leader in electric vehicle innovation.
The Kia EV3’s achievement in the 2025 WWCOTY Awards is a testament to its innovative engineering, thoughtful design, and broad appeal, reinforcing Kia’s position as a pioneer in the transition to sustainable, electric mobility.
Editor’s Note:
The EV3’s maximum range of 375 miles applies to the 81.4 kWh ‘Air’ version, while the 58.3 kWh variant offers a range of 275 miles. These figures are determined under the standardized Worldwide Harmonized Light Vehicles Test Procedure (WLTP). Driving styles and external factors can influence actual efficiency.
