Kia has reached a remarkable milestone with its Kia Charge service, now offering customers access to one million charging points across 27 European countries, including more than 55,000 in the UK alone. This expansion underlines Kia’s commitment to making electric vehicle (EV) ownership more convenient, reliable, and sustainable than ever before, supporting its growing line-up of dedicated EVs: the EV3, EV4, EV5, EV6, EV9, and PV5.
A Seamless Digital Experience
Central to Kia’s EV ecosystem is the new Kia App, which brings together Kia Connect, Kia Charge, MyKia, Kia Warranty Book, and the Kia Owner’s Manual into a single, user-friendly platform. The app serves as an everyday companion for Kia EV drivers, enabling them to locate charging points, track charging sessions, manage subscriptions, and plan journeys with charging options along the way.
For longer trips, the Kia EV Route Planner integrates directly with the vehicle’s navigation system, automatically detecting charging stations and adding them as waypoints. The latest update even allows users to set a target battery charge level for both destinations and selected stops, giving drivers full control over their journey.
“Achieving one million charging points represents a significant milestone that underlines Kia’s commitment to providing our EV customers with a comprehensive ecosystem of public, residential, and depot charging solutions,” said Marc Hedrich, President & CEO of Kia Europe. “This accomplishment highlights our contribution to advancing e-mobility and facilitating the shift toward more sustainable transportation solutions.”

Flexible, Future-Ready Charging Solutions
Kia Charge offers access to AC, DC, and high-power charging, including the IONITY network, which currently boasts 5,000 high-power points across Europe and is set to expand to 13,000 by 2030. Drivers can take advantage of IONITY subscription packages directly through the Kia App, with options like IONITY Power and IONITY Ultra offering reduced monthly and per-kWh rates.
For ultimate convenience, Kia’s Plug&Charge functionality enables drivers to start a charging session automatically at compatible charging points, without needing a card or app for authentication. Whether using the free Easy tariff or upgrading to Plus, Kia Charge provides a flexible solution tailored to every driver’s needs.
Charging Powered by Renewable Energy
In line with Kia’s commitment to responsible mobility, all charging sessions are matched with electricity from renewable energy sources. At IONITY stations, 100% renewable electricity powers every charge, while other sessions are supported through Europe’s Guarantees of Origin (GOs) system, ensuring that the equivalent energy consumed is fed back into the grid from certified renewable sources. By acquiring and redeeming these certificates, Kia ensures that each charging session directly contributes to the generation of renewable energy and the broader energy transition.
A Commitment to Seamless E-Mobility
Kia’s success in scaling its charging network stems from strong collaborations with leading charging providers across Europe. By combining a robust charging infrastructure, a comprehensive digital ecosystem, and a commitment to sustainability, Kia is making electric mobility accessible, stress-free, and future-ready for drivers across the continent.
With Kia Charge, charging an EV has never been simpler, greener, or more reliable, supporting the brand’s vision of a more sustainable and connected future for mobility.
