Kenwood has introduced an innovative new range of DRV dash cameras, combining advanced technology with a compact design that fits comfortably in the palm of your hand. This latest series enhances Kenwood’s award-winning reputation, with cameras now offered as accessories through numerous official franchised car dealers.
The new DRV series boasts resolutions from 1080P to full 4K, all capable of recording audio alongside video. The cameras are remarkably compact, measuring just 58.5mm x 42.8mm x 24.4mm, making them easy to conceal behind a rear-view mirror.
Despite their small size, these dashcams feature a full 2-inch color TFT screen for straightforward menu navigation and immediate checking of camera angles and functionality.
Superior Connectivity and Design
Kenwood’s new DRV cameras can seamlessly connect to smartphones via Bluetooth and Wi-Fi, pairing with the dedicated Kenwood app for quick connectivity and live software updates.
The design also focuses on practical installation, with carefully sized cables and connectors ensuring a neat, factory-finish appearance in any vehicle.
Innovative Waterproof Rear Camera
One of the standout features of the new DRV series is the waterproof rear camera, a world-first innovation from Kenwood. This rear camera is ideal for vehicles with limited rear vision, such as commercial vehicles, motorhomes, convertibles, and mid-engined supercars. Heavily tinted windows also benefit from this feature.
The waterproof rear camera, rated IP67 for water resistance, comes with three mounting options, allowing it to be affixed to the numberplate trim, bumper recess, or inside the rear windscreen. Despite its small size, comparable to a stock cube, the rear camera can capture footage in full 2560×1440 resolution with its 5.5m long cable, making it suitable for large vehicles.

Enhanced Smart Parking Surveillance
When using the optional hardwire kit, the DRV cameras offer Enhanced Smart Parking Surveillance. This feature includes three modes: continuous time-lapse recording, triggered recording upon detecting vibrations, or motion detection in front of the camera. The system automatically records 30 seconds of footage when vibrations or motion are detected, providing extra security for van drivers and ensuring their rear doors are monitored.
The hardwire kit also offers additional benefits, such as a 60-second timer to prevent recording interruptions from stop/start systems. It also includes a battery sensor that turns off the camera if the car’s battery is low. The hardwire kit has been approved by Volkswagen UK for use with their electric vehicle range.
Availability and Pricing
The new Kenwood DRV range is now available, with prices starting from £119.99. Customers can purchase these advanced dash cameras from Kenwoodshop.co.uk and various main dealerships of leading automotive brands.
Kenwood’s latest DRV series combines cutting-edge technology, superior picture quality, and practical design in a compact form, setting a new standard in the dash camera market.
