Denmark, 11 July 2024: Zenvo Automotive, in a strategic move to bolster its core technical team, has appointed Jon Gunner as Chief Technical Officer (CTO). This appointment underscores Zenvo’s commitment to ensuring that the Aurora development programme meets its objective of delivering unparalleled driver engagement.

Jon Gunner is renowned in the automotive industry for his expertise in designing and developing cutting-edge technology in modern sports and supercars. His extensive experience with hypercars has seen him contribute to the creation of some of the most advanced models in recent years. Jon has consistently pushed the boundaries of technology, engineering, production methods, weight reduction, aerodynamics, and ultimate speed.

Prior to joining Zenvo, Jon served as the head of innovation and, more recently, as the vehicle line director for Aston Martin Lagonda, overseeing Specials, Q, and GT Racing. He played a crucial role in the development of the original reborn Ford GT and held senior technical positions at Czinger and Koenigsegg. At Koenigsegg, he first collaborated with Jens Sverdrup, the current Chairman and Chief Commercial Officer of Zenvo Automotive.

Reflecting on their long-standing professional relationship, Jens Sverdrup remarked, “I have worked with Jon since 2011 on various special projects. His unique qualities make him the ideal boundary-pushing CTO for a hypercar project. Jon’s extensive experience and creativity, combined with several patents to his name, enable him to make balanced decisions while maintaining a broad perspective.”

Jens continued, “Jon is a technical genius who values design and aesthetics while also understanding the commercial aspects of a project. Our shared passion for creating kinetic art and pushing the limits of quality, drivability, performance, and innovation makes him a perfect fit for our vision for Aurora. His industry knowledge and standing are a significant asset to Zenvo, reinforcing our intentions with the Aurora project and the brand’s future.”

Expressing his enthusiasm for his new role, Jon Gunner commented, “When Jens and Christian [Brandt, Chief Designer] shared their vision for Zenvo’s artisan hypercar range, I was immediately captivated by their ambition to combine state-of-the-art vehicle performance with understated Danish design. After years of developing hypercars and super sports cars for others, I now have the opportunity to leverage my experience in building elite engineering teams to deliver the next generation of advanced and exciting Zenvo vehicles, starting with the Aurora Tur and Agil models.”

Jon Gunner’s appointment as CTO marks a pivotal moment for Zenvo Automotive, signaling a bold step forward in the evolution of the Aurora hypercar project.
