Nestled in the bustling city of Fuzhou, the capital of Fujian province in southeastern China, lies a revolutionary automotive facility that is redefining the future of car manufacturing. Jetour’s state-of-the-art “Dark Factory” embodies a seamless blend of advanced automation, sustainability, and cutting-edge innovation, setting new benchmarks for the global automotive industry.
Manufacturing Precision: One Car Every 100 Seconds
At the heart of Jetour’s Fuzhou facility is an unparalleled manufacturing system capable of producing one car every 100 seconds. This impressive pace is achieved through the extensive use of automation and robotics, with minimal human intervention. The “Dark Factory” moniker reflects the facility’s high reliance on technology, where robots handle tasks with unmatched efficiency and precision, reducing the need for traditional manual labor.
The factory’s streamlined processes encompass all aspects of vehicle production, including stamping, welding, painting, and assembly. Robots perform 100% of the welding tasks, ensuring consistency and accuracy, while the painting facility completes intricate tasks in just 200 seconds per car. This robust system is not only fast but also flexible, allowing the factory to manufacture up to four models across two platforms simultaneously, adapting quickly to evolving market demands.
Sustainability at the Core
Jetour’s Fuzhou Factory stands out for its commitment to sustainability. The facility integrates energy-efficient technologies, renewable energy sources, waste reduction measures, and water-saving solutions, reflecting the company’s forward-thinking approach to environmental stewardship. The focus on green practices aligns with the broader automotive industry’s shift toward eco-conscious manufacturing, positioning Jetour as a leader in sustainable innovation.

Intelligent Logistics and Quality Assurance
The factory leverages advanced material management systems featuring autonomous mobile robots (AMRs) and automatic guided vehicles (AGVs) to optimize logistics. These smart systems navigate the factory floor along preset paths, ensuring efficient and timely transport of components.
Quality control is another area where Jetour excels. The facility employs a “smart brain” powered by big data and artificial intelligence to monitor every aspect of production. Its “0+3” manufacturing approach focuses on achieving zero defects, error-proof assembly, thorough vehicle inspection, and comprehensive traceability of quality data. This meticulous system underscores Jetour’s dedication to delivering superior products.
Meeting Global Demand with Expansion Plans
With an annual production capacity of 200,000 units, the Fuzhou factory plays a pivotal role in Jetour’s rapid global expansion. Plans are already underway to double this output to 400,000 units per year, reinforcing the brand’s ability to meet growing demand across international markets.
Jetour’s presence is steadily expanding, with sales exceeding 1.46 million vehicles across 62 countries since the brand’s inception in 2018. Locally, Jetour has already sold over 1,500 vehicles since launching in September 2023, offering popular models like the Dashing and X70 Plus.
The Road Ahead
The Fuzhou Factory is gearing up to produce eight new models over the next two years, spanning urban SUVs, off-road SUVs, and pickups. Additionally, Jetour is set to introduce hybrid vehicles into international markets, aiming to dominate the hybrid electric off-road SUV segment. These developments mark a bold step toward a sustainable and electrified future, reflecting Jetour’s ambition to stay ahead of industry trends.
As Jetour continues to grow and innovate, its Fuzhou “Dark Factory” stands as a testament to what is possible when technology, sustainability, and vision converge. This facility not only underscores the company’s manufacturing prowess but also signals a promising future for the global automotive industry.
