Jetour Drives Visibility at Africa’s First G20 Summit
As Johannesburg prepares to host the G20 Summit from 22–23 November 2025, a new face in the South African automotive scene is taking centre stage. Jetour, the SUV brand that launched locally last year, will supply the largest fleet of vehicles for the landmark event, cementing its position as a trusted partner for VIP transport and government operations.
This year’s G20 Summit marks the first time the global forum convenes on African soil. With heads of state, ministers, and dignitaries descending on the city, the spotlight is on safety, efficiency, and reliability—areas where Jetour aims to impress. Seventy of the brand’s newly launched T2 SUVs will serve as convoy vehicles for SAPS VIP Protection Services, ferrying foreign ministers and key delegates between hotels and the Nasrec Expo Centre.
Deputy Director General of Public Diplomacy at the Department of International Relations and Cooperation (DIRCO), Mr Clayson Monyela, highlighted the significance of the partnership during Jetour’s T-Series launch on 24 October at Cape Town’s Grand Parade. The ceremony featured a symbolic lighting of a protea, celebrating the collaboration and the official vehicle handover between Jetour and government representatives.
T2: A Blend of Performance, Comfort, and Technology
The T2 is Jetour’s flagship model for this operation, designed to meet the rigorous demands of VIP transport. With advanced safety features including panoramic cameras, parking sensors, and tyre pressure monitoring, the T2 ensures situational awareness at every turn. The vehicle’s high ground clearance and multiple driving modes allow it to navigate both congested urban streets and varied terrains with confidence.
Inside, the T2’s cabins are spacious, quiet, and ergonomically designed, with high-end infotainment systems and seating that prioritises comfort for dignitaries. The combination of technological sophistication and refined interiors ensures that the T2 delivers not only safety but also a first-class experience befitting international VIPs.

Building Trust Through Proven Partnerships
Though Jetour is a relatively new entrant in South Africa, its credentials across Africa and the Middle East are notable. The Angolan government relies on Jetour’s 7-seater X70 models for national police operations, while in Oman, Jetour was the official vehicle sponsor for the government-backed Tour of Oman cycling event. These examples underscore the growing confidence in Jetour’s vehicles, highlighting both reliability and versatility in official and high-profile settings.
Aligning with Global Goals
The 2025 G20 Summit, themed “Solidarity, Equality, Sustainability,” will place a spotlight on the voices of developing nations while reviewing progress toward inclusive and sustainable development. Jetour’s partnership reflects these values through dependable, technologically advanced vehicles that support safe and efficient international collaboration.
As the first African G20 Summit unfolds, Jetour’s presence is more than logistical—it’s symbolic. For a brand that has rapidly expanded its footprint across continents, providing 70 T2 SUVs for the event is a statement of intent: Jetour is here, it is capable, and it is ready to drive into the global spotlight.
