Auto Shanghai 2025 proves pivotal as Jetour unveils groundbreaking hybrid technology, showcases its off-road prowess, and expands its global media footprint.
Auto Shanghai 2025, officially known as the Shanghai International Automobile Industry Exhibition, once again reinforced China’s commanding role in shaping the future of the global automotive industry. This year’s theme, “Embracing Innovation, Empowering the Future,” served as a fitting backdrop for a showcase that brought together over one million visitors, more than 1,000 exhibitors from 26 countries, and a sprawling 360,000 square metres of cutting-edge mobility innovation.
One of the standout exhibitors was Jetour, which drew global attention with a meticulously curated three-day experience that blended innovation, immersive brand storytelling, and a historic product reveal. The brand welcomed more than 130 media professionals and influencers from across the Middle East, Africa, South America, and Asia-Pacific, offering them an exclusive preview into the next chapter of Jetour’s “Travel+” culture.
A World-First in Hybrid Off-Roading: The GAIA Architecture
Jetour’s most significant announcement came in the form of its revolutionary GAIA hybrid off-road architecture, a sophisticated platform that underpins the all-new G700 and G900 SUVs. This next-generation system is designed for premium off-roaders and incorporates dual power systems, amphibious driving capabilities, satellite communication, and even onboard oxygen generation—a bold testament to Jetour’s ambitions in redefining intelligent all-terrain mobility.
The G700, which headlines this new architecture, is scheduled to make its global debut in the UAE later this year. Positioned as the brand’s flagship SUV, it combines rugged functionality with futuristic technology, setting a new benchmark in the hybrid off-road segment.
First-Hand Driving Impressions: Test Drives Take Centre Stage
Jetour leveraged Auto Shanghai’s dynamic test drive environments to allow media a first-hand experience of its latest models—including the rugged Jetour T1, the hybrid T2 i-DM, and the eagerly anticipated G700. Each test drive underscored Jetour’s growing technical sophistication, with particular emphasis on the vehicles’ off-road capability, ride comfort, and intelligent systems.
The T1 proved a crowd favourite for its balance of urban practicality and adventurous spirit. Built on Jetour’s proprietary XWD intelligent four-wheel drive system, the SUV seamlessly adapts to shifting terrain, delivering optimum grip and control. Meanwhile, the T2 i-DM added a refined edge to the off-road experience, boasting improved fuel efficiency, reduced noise, and enhanced ride smoothness courtesy of its intelligent hybrid drivetrain.
But it was the G700 that truly captivated attendees, particularly during its autonomous parking demonstration and the thrilling cross-axle and side slope tests. The vehicle’s reinforced chassis and cutting-edge suspension system delivered high levels of stability, further affirming Jetour’s positioning as a leader in hybrid off-road performance.

Global Strategy on the Move: Launching the Jetour Media Alliance
Beyond product showcases, Jetour used Auto Shanghai as a strategic springboard to deepen its international reach. The brand hosted a dedicated media workshop with over 40 journalists from key export markets, culminating in the launch of the Jetour Media Alliance (JMA)—a collaborative platform designed to enhance product storytelling through shared evaluations, co-branded campaigns, and unified global messaging.
The creation of JMA signals a decisive shift in Jetour’s approach to media engagement, aiming to forge deeper, long-term relationships with global storytellers while amplifying the brand’s presence across emerging and established markets alike.
Global Growth and Local Momentum
Jetour’s international momentum continues to build at a remarkable pace. The T2 officially launched in China in September 2023 and quickly made its international debut in the UAE in early 2024. Both the T1 and T2 i-DM have gained traction across the Middle East, with plans underway to expand their footprint across Africa, South America, Asia-Pacific, and the CIS region.
Here in South Africa, Jetour entered the market in September 2024 with the introduction of the five-seater Jetour Dashing and the seven-seater X70 Plus. The reception has been overwhelmingly positive, and local motorists can look forward to the arrival of new Jetour models beginning later this year—vehicles that promise to bring Jetour’s Travel+ ethos to a broader audience of adventurers and everyday explorers.
Jetour’s Future is Now
Auto Shanghai 2025 was more than a showcase—it was a defining moment in Jetour’s journey. With its innovative GAIA platform, a strong media alliance, and a commitment to creating intelligent, high-performance off-road vehicles, Jetour is not just responding to the future of mobility—it is actively shaping it.
As the brand continues its global expansion, its fusion of cutting-edge technology, global collaboration, and authentic adventure is poised to resonate with a new generation of drivers looking for more than just a mode of transport. Jetour is building vehicles that don’t just move people—they move the world forward.
