As a global leader in the SUV market, Jetour not only prides itself on delivering high-quality vehicles but also embraces a strong commitment to corporate social responsibility. This dedication is exemplified by Jetour AutoCity Alberton, which recently launched an inspiring initiative to support local schoolchildren in need.
On Thursday, 13 February, the dealership team visited Umkhathizwe and Nageng Primary Schools in Kathorus to extend a helping hand to underprivileged learners. Spearheaded by Sales Executive Namasonto Ntsibande and supported by renowned influencer Mbali Skosana, the campaign focused on donating school shoes and socks to children who lack these basic necessities.
Sales Manager Pieter Els expressed the dealership’s motivation behind the initiative, stating, “The reason behind this initiative is to show the community that we care and to support underprivileged children who are struggling with everyday necessities such as uniforms at school. As part of the ‘AutoCity Care’ programme, Jetour Alberton was eager to jump on the idea and make a difference. This is our way of giving back to the community. It’s our way of saying thank you for the support.”

Beyond this initial donation, additional school shoes, socks, and clothing have been collected and will be distributed to more schools in the area over the coming weeks. This initiative is just one of many under the AutoCity Cares programme—a non-profit organisation established by the AutoCity Group to bridge socio-economic gaps in local communities. The organisation’s mission extends beyond the automotive industry, fostering positive change where it is needed most.
Through their generous efforts, Jetour AutoCity Alberton continues to reinforce its commitment to social responsibility, proving that businesses can be instrumental in uplifting communities. Els hopes this act of kindness will inspire others to participate in similar charitable activities.
“Hopefully, this initiative will inspire more people to get on board. We will continue doing this regularly, as there are many people who are struggling with daily needs. This is only the beginning of an amazing journey in giving back,” he shared. Looking ahead, the dealership’s next campaign will focus on providing sanitary towels to young women at these and other schools in the community, further extending their impact.
