1 November 2024, Goodwood, West Sussex – Rolls-Royce Motor Cars has appointed James Crichton as Regional Director for the Middle East & Africa, underscoring the brand’s commitment to this influential region. Effective today, Crichton will be based at Rolls-Royce’s regional office in Dubai, where he will lead operations and expand the brand’s market presence in a region known for its affinity for bespoke luxury.
A seasoned Rolls-Royce professional, Crichton brings over 14 years of experience with the company, most recently serving as General Manager, Global Sales Operations at the Home of Rolls-Royce in Goodwood. His expertise spans a variety of senior roles within the organization, including a successful tenure as Regional Director for Europe and Central Asia. His appointment follows the departure of César Habib, who left the company to pursue other business interests.
Julian Jenkins, Director of Sales & Brand at Rolls-Royce Motor Cars, expressed his confidence in Crichton’s leadership: “I am delighted to welcome James Crichton to his new role as Regional Manager Middle East & Africa. James has more than 14 years of experience with Rolls-Royce Motor Cars and has held several leading positions in the company during this time. This latest move to Dubai reunites him with the regional office he was asked to establish in 2011. Middle East & Africa is a hugely important region for our business, and I wish James continued success in his role leading the excellent team which serves the region.”

This appointment also marks a homecoming of sorts for Crichton. Originally from South Africa, he joined the BMW Group in 1999 as a National Sales Manager in Johannesburg. His career path took him to Munich, where he spent a short period before relocating to Dubai in 2007 to oversee sales and marketing for BMW and MINI. In 2011, he established the Rolls-Royce regional office in Dubai—a move that laid the foundation for the brand’s growing prominence in the Middle East & Africa.
The region itself holds a unique significance for Rolls-Royce. In 2022, the company inaugurated its first-ever Private Office outside of Goodwood in the Middle East, reaffirming its dedication to serving the distinctive tastes of its clientele in the region. This market is known for commissioning some of Rolls-Royce’s most intricate and opulent Bespoke creations, showcasing the artistry and personalization that define the brand’s heritage. Crichton’s familiarity with the market, combined with his expertise in luxury automotive sales, positions him well to build on the brand’s success in the region.
Reflecting on his return to Dubai, Crichton expressed his enthusiasm for rejoining a region he holds dear: “It’s both an honour and a pleasure to be back in the Middle East & Africa. This region has a profound appreciation for the unparalleled quality and sophistication of Rolls-Royce. I look forward to leading our exceptional team here as we continue to elevate our presence and exceed the expectations of our discerning clientele.”
The Middle East & Africa is not only an essential market for Rolls-Royce but also a driving force behind some of its most ambitious Bespoke projects, reflecting the area’s passion for tailored luxury. Crichton’s leadership is anticipated to foster further growth and strengthen relationships with key clients as Rolls-Royce continues to innovate and cater to this prestigious clientele.
