Pretoria, 13 November 2015 – South Africans have chosen two Jaguar models as their favourite executive and sports cars in the 2016 People’s Wheels Awards, announced this morning at the Sandton Convention Centre in Johannesburg. More than 30 000 people voted in this year’s edition of the online poll, selecting the Jaguar XF as the winner in the mid-size executive car category, while the Jaguar F-TYPE Convertible took top honours in the sporty drop-tops category.
The Jaguar F-TYPE’s popularity was proven earlier this year when it dominated sales charts and became the best-selling two-seater sports car for the first half of 2015. Combining seductive styling with lightweight aluminium construction, thrilling handling and powerful engines, the F-TYPE offers drivers the quintessential sports car experience.
The Jaguar XF brought innovation to the mid-size premium class segment when it launched in 2008. With an interior that blended the latest technology with the ultimate in luxury, it retained Jaguar’s renowned sportiness and superb ride quality.

Winners in the People’s Wheels Awards are chosen by the public, via an online open vote. All vehicles currently on sale in South Africa competed in 22 categories, ranging from entry-level models to highly desirable luxury cars.
