Jaguar’s motorsport masterpiece meets Scotland’s oldest working distillery in a refined celebration of craftsmanship, legacy and design.
Pretoria, South Africa – 18 June 2025: Two icons of British heritage—Jaguar Classic and The Glenturret—have united once more in an exquisite celebration of history and craftsmanship. This time, it’s to honour the 70th anniversary of one of Jaguar’s most revered creations: the D-type. Marking the final chapter in a coveted trio of Jaguar-inspired whiskies, just 270 bottles of this exceptionally rare 35-year-old single malt will be made available globally.
The latest expression concludes a whisky trilogy that began in 2021 with a 30-year-old E-type edition and continued in 2024 with a 32-year-old tribute to the Le Mans-winning C-type. Each release in the series has paired exceptional whisky with a milestone in Jaguar’s motorsport heritage—offering connoisseurs and collectors a rare fusion of fine spirits and automotive legacy.
“It feels very apt to be collaborating with such a prestigious brand to celebrate the engineering success of one of Jaguar’s finest automobiles – and complete the trio of whiskies that are as exclusive as our vehicles,” said Dominic Elms, Director of Jaguar Land Rover Classic. “Like Jaguar Classic, The Glenturret are purveyors of perfection, and our shared ethos is reflected in the craftmanship of both of our talented teams.”
This ultra-limited edition whisky—matured for a minimum of 35 years—has been expertly drawn from six casks chosen to reflect the complexity and character of the D-type itself. Three Pedro Ximenez sherry-seasoned European oak hogsheads lend rich dried fruit and warm spice; two Oloroso-seasoned American oak casks contribute notes of vanilla and cinnamon; while a final American oak refill hogshead delivers subtle elegance with hints of delicate oak.
The result is a layered, luxurious profile: an opulent nose of toffee apples, cinnamon and rich dried fruit, followed by a warm palate laced with ginger, nutmeg and green apple. A long, graceful finish lingers with resinous wood and fruit undertones, wrapped in a lightly oily texture that underscores the whisky’s maturity.
“It is an honour to be working with Jaguar on our third single malt whisky,” said John Laurie, Managing Director at The Glenturret. “The Glenturret customers appreciate detail, craftmanship and design, which aligns perfectly with the ethos of Jaguar and its rich history as a British brand. To celebrate the anniversary of one of its best – the D-type – is a truly special opportunity.”

Celebrating the Jaguar D-type: A Racing Legend
Born in 1954 and bred for the racetrack, the Jaguar D-type was a masterclass in innovation. Drawing on the aerodynamic insights of its predecessor, the C-type, the D-type introduced a revolutionary monocoque chassis design inspired by aviation. This lightweight structure significantly improved speed and agility—key to its success at the 24 Hours of Le Mans, where it claimed three consecutive victories from 1955 to 1957.
Beyond its engineering prowess, the D-type’s aesthetic purity—marked by its long nose, tail fin and low profile—has etched it into the pantheon of automotive design. While Jaguar originally built just 18 “Works” racers and 75 customer cars, Jaguar Classic added 25 hand-built D-type Continuation models in recent years, completing the original production run planned in the 1950s.
Today, the D-type remains one of the most collectible and admired sports cars ever built—a fitting muse for The Glenturret’s exceptional tribute.
A Final Toast to Craft and Heritage
The release of this 35-year-old single malt marks a graceful conclusion to the Jaguar x Glenturret collaboration. Each bottle is presented in a collector’s case reflecting the D-type’s design ethos, making it as desirable on the shelf as it is in the glass.
Only 270 bottles of this landmark whisky will be offered for sale, exclusively via www.theglenturret.com, with a recommended retail price of £2,200. For collectors, whisky lovers, and Jaguar devotees alike, this is more than a bottle—it’s a piece of British history in liquid form.
