JAECOO UK has unveiled its new flagship SUV, the JAECOO 8 SHS-P, marking a bold step forward for the brand. Bringing three-row luxury to the line-up for the first time, the JAECOO 8 SHS-P is available in two distinct configurations, offering either a family-focused 7-seat Luxury model or a premium 6-seat Executive variant. With prices starting from £45,500 OTR for the Luxury and £47,500 OTR for the Executive, the model sets a new benchmark for versatile, refined, and adventure-ready SUVs in the UK market.
At the heart of the JAECOO 8 SHS-P is Chery International’s advanced Super Hybrid System (SHS-P), pairing a 1.5-litre turbocharged engine with a 3-speed DHT automatic transmission and all-wheel drive. The system produces 428 PS and 580 Nm, delivering a 0-62 mph time of just 5.8 seconds, while CO2 emissions remain impressively low at 14 g/km. The plug-in hybrid SUV also offers up to 83 miles of electric-only range, a combined driving range exceeding 700 miles, DC fast-charging capability, and 6.6 kW vehicle-to-load functionality for maximum versatility on long trips or outdoor adventures.
The JAECOO 8 SHS-P Luxury model is aimed at families, offering seven seats, dual 12.3-inch displays, a SONY 14-speaker sound system, wireless Android Auto™ and Apple CarPlay®, and abundant storage with up to 2,021 litres of boot space. Multiple ISOFIX points and advanced safety systems reinforce its family credentials, making it ideal for school runs, holidays, and everyday journeys.
The Executive variant raises the bar for rear-seat comfort, featuring six seats with four heated, ventilated, and massaging captain’s chairs, extendable thigh support, and Nappa leather upholstery. With executive-grade appointments, including a zero-gravity passenger seat and a dedicated “Boss Button,” the Executive is designed for professional and luxury use, delivering first-class comfort for every occupant.
Every JAECOO 8 SHS-P is built to handle a wide range of conditions. For the first time, the brand introduces lockable differentials alongside an adaptive all-terrain response system, supported by continuous damping control suspension and a wading depth of up to 600 mm. Exterior styling combines JAECOO’s signature waterfall grille with flowing character lines, hidden door handles, LED lighting, and a panoramic sunroof, reflecting a balance of modernist luxury and bold SUV presence.
