London, 28 November 2025 – JAECOO UK is closing its debut year on a major high, as the JAECOO 7 has been crowned Family Car of the Year 2025 at the prestigious Scottish Car of the Year (SCOTY) Awards. As Scotland’s foremost celebration of automotive excellence, the annual awards—now in their 28th year—highlight standout vehicles that define leadership, value and innovation across an increasingly competitive market.

Judged by the Association of Scottish Motoring Writers (ASMW), the awards draw on the expertise of journalists who test and evaluate hundreds of new vehicles each year. The ASMW praised the JAECOO 7 for its outstanding integration of interior space, comfort and value—qualities that have quickly defined the brand’s appeal among UK drivers.

ASMW President Ally Ballingal said:
“The JAECOO 7 was named Best Family Car for its impressive blend of space, comfort and value. Judges highlighted its flexible interior, generous boot and family-friendly practicality. Strong safety tech and a smooth, assured driving experience helped it shine in a crowded segment. With its smart design and standout equipment levels, the JAECOO 7 proved an ideal modern family all-rounder.”

A Landmark First Year for JAECOO in the UK

Since arriving in the UK market, JAECOO has quickly established itself as one of the fastest-growing new automotive entrants. With more than 22,000 JAECOO 7s now on UK roads, the model continues to gain considerable national momentum—cementing its position as the UK’s best-selling Chinese car in October, according to SMMT data.

The award comes during a period of sustained recognition for the brand, with the JAECOO 7 previously named Leasing.com’s Overall Car of the Year, and JAECOO honoured as Carwow’s Brand of the Year 2026.

Reflecting on the latest accolade, Gary Lan, CEO of JAECOO UK, commented:
“Once again, we are proud to announce another significant accolade for JAECOO before the end of the year. Marking this achievement here in Edinburgh, as we approach our first full year in the UK, makes the recognition even more meaningful. JAECOO has established a clear presence across the country, and we remain committed to delivering design-led, comprehensive-as-standard and high-value SUVs. As we look ahead to 2026, we are prepared for the next chapter and the opportunities it will bring.”

Expanding Range: JAECOO 5 and All-Electric JAECOO E5

Building on the momentum generated by the JAECOO 7, the brand is now broadening its UK lineup with two new compact SUVs:

  • JAECOO 5 – available in both pure-electric and internal combustion engine variants
  • JAECOO E5 – the brand’s latest all-electric family SUV

The JAECOO 5 begins at £24,505 OTR*, while the all-electric E5 starts from £37,505 OTR*. Both models join the expanding OMODA&JAECOO UK retailer network, supported by a comprehensive 7-year/100,000-mile warranty as standard.

Modern Design, Strong Value and a Growing UK Presence

With demand accelerating in a competitive SUV market, JAECOO continues to differentiate itself through its blend of modern design, generous equipment levels and accessible pricing. The award-winning JAECOO 7 is priced from £30,115 OTR*, with the JAECOO 7 SHS starting from £35,165 OTR*—both offering extensive standard features and technology that resonate strongly with family buyers.

As the brand looks ahead to 2026, the SCOTY award marks another significant milestone in a year defined by rapid growth, expanding product lines and increasing recognition from both consumers and industry experts.
