Covering an astonishing 4,084 km at an average speed of 170.1 km/h, the achievement underscores the durability and performance of JAC Motors’ flagship T-Series bakkie.
Built on the top-spec T9 Super Lux, the Hunter Limited Edition elevates the T9 to the pinnacle of the range, delivering over 15% more performance than existing derivatives. Its 2.0-litre intercooled turbocharged diesel engine produces 144 kW at 3,014 rpm and 487 Nm of torque at 2,704 rpm, seamlessly managed by an 8-speed ZF automatic transmission for smooth and responsive power delivery.
The T9 Hunter also brings an array of exclusive lifestyle and comfort features, including Artav nudge and style bars, a tow bar, tonneau cover, branded headrests, and heavy-duty carpets. These enhancements complement its robust performance, making the T9 Hunter equally at home on adventurous trails or family outings.

Following the sell-out success, JAC Motors has announced that the T9 Hunter will become a permanent model in the T9 line-up, with both 4×2 and 4×4 configurations available in all eight colours.

JAC Motors has also upgraded torque across all T9 Lux and Super Lux derivatives from 410 Nm to 444 Nm, enhancing drivability for those towing heavy trailers or caravans. Fuel efficiency remains a key strength for the T-Series. At a recent Gerotek fuel economy test, the T9 achieved 1,226 km at 6.2 L/100 km, while the T8 reached 1,246 km at 6.1 L/100 km, both on just 76 litres of diesel at 115 km/h – impressive figures for vehicles in this segment.
