Isuzu UK is gearing up for its second consecutive year as the Official Automotive Partner of the esteemed Blenheim Palace International Horse Trials (BPIHT), one of the premier equestrian events in the UK. Running from September 19th to 22nd, BPIHT 2024 promises an exhilarating showcase of equestrian talent against the majestic backdrop of Blenheim Palace, home to the Duke of Marlborough.
As part of their partnership, Isuzu UK will display an impressive array of five D-Max pick-ups, including the limited STEEL Edition and the versatile Expedition Edition. These models highlight the brand’s commitment to blending rugged capability with sophisticated design. The STEEL Edition, distinguished by its Steel Grey Mica colour and SUV-level comfort, exemplifies the premium side of the D-Max range, while the Expedition Edition is tailored for adventurers, showcasing extensive accessories and modifications designed for off-road enthusiasts and campers.
A focal point of Isuzu’s presence at the event will be the exclusive off-roading experience, where visitors can get hands-on with the D-Max’s renowned 4WD system. This interactive feature allows attendees to explore the vehicle’s capabilities, including its shift-on-the-fly 4WD system, rear differential lock, high approach angles, and hill descent control. Professional drivers will guide participants through the vehicle’s rugged features, offering a taste of the D-Max’s performance in demanding conditions.

Isuzu’s involvement goes beyond mere exhibition. The brand will provide over 30 vehicles to support key operations throughout the event, demonstrating the D-Max’s versatility and reliability. The highlight of Isuzu’s sponsorship will be the ‘Isuzu Challenger’, a cross-country fence bearing the brand’s name, symbolizing the synergy between Isuzu’s off-road prowess and the event’s adventurous spirit.
George Wallis, Head of Marketing at Isuzu UK, expressed enthusiasm about the partnership, stating, “We’re thrilled to return as the Official Automotive Sponsor for the Blenheim Palace International Horse Trials. The D-Max has consistently proven its worth as a reliable workhorse, making it the ideal vehicle for this event. Our continued presence underscores our commitment to showcasing the D-Max’s capabilities while supporting a beloved sporting event.”
Echoing this sentiment, Catherine Bishop, Head of Operations at BPIHT, noted, “Isuzu’s partnership last year was a tremendous success. The D-Max exceeded expectations in fulfilling its duties across the event, so it was an easy decision to invite them back for another year. We’re excited to see how their presence will enhance this year’s trials.”
Since its inception in 1990, the Blenheim Palace International Horse Trials has been a cornerstone of the equestrian calendar, featuring some of the world’s top riders. The 2023 event saw Ros Canter claim victory on Izilot DHI, adding to the event’s storied history.
As BPIHT 2024 approaches, attendees can look forward to a spectacular blend of equestrian excellence and automotive innovation, with Isuzu’s D-Max playing a pivotal role in ensuring the event’s success.
