Isuzu UK is proud to announce the renewal of its partnership with the Green Lane Association (GLA), marking the second year of a collaboration dedicated to promoting responsible off-roading across the UK and Northern Ireland. This partnership underscores a shared commitment to sustainability, capability, and durability, while highlighting the future of eco-conscious adventure motoring.

Over the past year, Isuzu has supported the Green Lane Association through a combination of digital engagement, dealer participation, and shared on-the-ground events. Across the UK, Isuzu dealers, many of whom are active green laners themselves, have hosted green lane journeys alongside Association representatives, exploring the country’s rural routes and capturing the beauty of the countryside—all while promoting responsible driving practices.

As part of its ongoing support, Isuzu has been featured in the Green Lane Association Magazine, published biannually, and has participated in outdoor shows alongside the GLA. These platforms have allowed Isuzu to encourage responsible green laning to current and prospective enthusiasts, reinforcing the importance of protecting access to unsurfaced, unclassified roads—historically known as green lanes.

The partnership thrives on shared values of sustainability, capability, and durability. Isuzu’s dedication to sustainable motoring was recently recognised with the Sustainability Award from Overlander 4×4 Magazine, acknowledging the D-Max’s low emissions, robust design, and forward-thinking approach to eco-conscious off-roading.

The Green Lane Association champions responsible vehicle use while safeguarding historic routes for future generations. Central to this mission is the Drivers and Riders Code of Conduct, which urges all off-roaders to:

  • Be Legal: Respect rights of access, obey closures, and report obstructions.
  • Be Wise: Consider the Four Ws—Weather, Weight, Width, and Winches—to prevent environmental damage.
  • Be Eco: Stick to tracks, minimise disturbance to wildlife, and leave no litter behind.
  • Be Good: Drive courteously, quietly, and at safe speeds, acting as ambassadors for responsible motoring.

Tristan Craddock, Director at the Green Lane Association, commented: “Our partnership with Isuzu has been incredibly positive. Isuzu’s support has helped us reach a wider audience of responsible off-roaders and raise awareness about preserving the UK’s green lanes. It’s refreshing to work with a brand that not only values capability but also truly understands the importance of sustainability in off-roading.”

George Wallis, Head of Marketing at Isuzu UK, added: “We’ve tracked a great first year with the Green Lane Association, and we’re thrilled to keep the momentum rolling! This partnership demonstrates that 4×4 adventure and responsibility can travel side by side. Together, we’re showing that off-roading doesn’t have to cost the earth.”

Looking ahead, Isuzu is set to take responsible off-roading to the next level with the introduction of the D-Max EV. This fully electric model enables zero-emission green laning while maintaining the peace and tranquillity of rural areas. Its near-silent operation reduces disturbance to local communities and wildlife, perfectly aligning with the Green Lane Association’s ethos of sustainable and respectful countryside access.

The D-Max EV combines Isuzu’s signature toughness and dependability with cutting-edge electric technology, ensuring that future exploration remains both thrilling and environmentally responsible. With this partnership and the launch of the D-Max EV, Isuzu is driving a new era of off-road adventure—where capability, sustainability, and respect for the environment travel hand in hand.
