Gqeberha, May 2024 – Sixty years ago, ISUZU Trucks embarked on its journey in South Africa with a clear vision: to provide reliable, durable, and innovative commercial vehicles that cater to the evolving needs of businesses nationwide. As we celebrate this remarkable milestone, we reflect on a history rich with achievements, excellence, and a steadfast commitment to offering top-notch transport solutions for both large fleets and single-unit operators.

Since our inception, ISUZU Trucks has become synonymous with quality and performance. Our entry into the South African market in 1964 with the iconic ISUZU Elfin TKG 10 petrol-engine 1½ ton truck marked the beginning of a legacy that has significantly shaped the transportation industry.

Over the years, we have consistently raised the bar by introducing groundbreaking technologies and pioneering advancements. These innovations have redefined the standards of excellence in commercial vehicles and consistently pushed the boundaries to deliver vehicles that exceed expectations. Our trucks’ unwavering reliability and durability have secured the top spot in the cab-over-chassis market in the medium- and heavy-commercial vehicle segments for 11 consecutive years.

Celebrating 60 Years Of Innovation And Excellence In South Africa

A key pillar of our success is our relentless pursuit of technological advancement and environmental sustainability. As part of our five-step alternative propulsion journey towards full Carbon Neutral New Energy Vehicles, we are proud to offer Diesel Dual Fuel as an option on 20 of our truck models, in addition to the already available EURO 5 models. This provides our customers with more sustainable and efficient transportation solutions. The recently introduced NPR 400 Compressed Natural Gas model further expands our range of environmentally friendly vehicles.

As we commemorate 60 years of ISUZU Trucks in South Africa, we extend our sincere gratitude to our customers, partners, and employees for their unwavering support and trust. Together, we have achieved remarkable milestones and overcome numerous challenges. We remain committed to driving innovation, excellence, and sustainability in the years to come.
