Pretoria, South Africa, 27 May 2024: The all-new Range Rover Sport SV has taken the South African market by storm, with all 35 limited-edition SV EDITION ONE units fully allocated before the official sales began.
Janico Dannhauser, Product and Pricing Manager at JLR South Africa, commented: “Nearly 200 clients expressed interest in the limited-edition new Range Rover Sport SV EDITION ONE. Thirty-five fortunate individuals now have the privilege of owning one, placing them among the first in South Africa to experience the groundbreaking innovations that set this model as the ultimate luxury performance SUV.”
The new Range Rover Sport SV is acclaimed as the most powerful and dynamic model in the Range Rover Sport lineup. It seamlessly combines exceptional performance with the unmatched capability and refinement that Range Rover is known for.
The vehicle is powered by a new 467kW, 750Nm 4.4-litre Twin-Turbo MHEV V8 petrol engine, which delivers 44kW and 50Nm more than its predecessor, the Range Rover Sport SVR. This powerhouse enables the SV to accelerate from 0-100km/h in just 3.7 seconds and reach a top speed of 290km/h.
Performance is further enhanced by a suite of supercar-inspired features, including the world’s first 23-inch Carbon Fibre Wheel option on a production car, Carbon Ceramic Brakes, and aerodynamic enhancements such as a carbon fibre bonnet. These elements contribute to a weight reduction of up to 76kg, improving both agility and ride quality.

The Range Rover Sport SV also debuts the world-first 6D Dynamics suspension system, the most sophisticated in its class. This system features hydraulic interlinked dampers, height-adjustable air springs, and pitch control, eliminating the need for conventional anti-roll bars. It ensures a near-level body stance during extreme driving conditions, enhancing grip, comfort, and refinement.
The 6D Dynamics suspension works in harmony with advanced chassis and suspension systems, including Intelligent All-Wheel Drive, All-Wheel Steering, Torque Vectoring by Braking, Configurable Dynamics, and an Active Locking Rear Differential. The new SV Mode button on the steering wheel allows drivers to further enhance the vehicle’s sporting capabilities by optimizing various performance parameters.
Chassis components have been specially developed for the SV, including a new rear subframe and suspension links with revised geometry. The new electronically power-assisted steering rack offers the fastest ratio of any Range Rover to date, enhancing agility and feel.
For the first time, the Range Rover Sport SV is equipped with 305-section rear tyres, 20mm wider than the front tyres, enhancing grip, stability, and traction. This setup, combined with standard-fit Michelin Pilot Sport All Season 4 tyres, ensures a rear-biased dynamic setup. The vehicle can generate lateral acceleration in excess of 1.1G, comparable to track-focused sports cars.
The SV’s braking system includes standard mixed-metal Dual-Cast brakes and optional Carbon Ceramic Brakes (CCB). The CCB option offers improved performance, resistance to high temperatures, a longer lifespan, and a 34kg reduction in un-sprung weight, enhancing handling and ride quality. The unique eight-piston Brembo Octyma front calipers are the largest ever fitted to a Range Rover and are available in customisable colours.
Further weight reduction is achieved with the optional 23-inch Carbon Fibre Wheels, the first of their kind on a production vehicle. These wheels save nearly 9kg per corner, improving performance and ride quality.
The SV’s exterior design features airflow-enhanced front-end, reprofiled lower body sides, and carbon fibre-tipped quad tailpipes. Inside, the cabin includes satin carbon fibre-backed SV Performance Seats with integrated headrests and illuminated SV logos, a new Ultrafabrics™ PU interior, and world-first translucent edge-lit gear shift paddles.
The new Range Rover Sport SV also introduces the Body and Soul Seat (BASS), a multi-dimensional audio experience with wellness benefits. This system uses SUBPAC™ technology to generate high-fidelity audio vibrations, enhancing the immersive in-car experience, and works with the 29-speaker, 1430W Meridian Signature Sound System.
Janico Dannhauser added: “The SV EDITION ONE specification represents a curated selection of the best feature combinations, colours, and finishes. Each Range Rover Sport SV EDITION ONE is distinguished by exclusive branding on the front splitter, centre console, treadplates, and puddle lamps.”
