Maranello, June 21, 2024 – Ferrari marks a milestone today with the inauguration of its new e-building, ushering in a new era of production versatility and sustainability. The ceremony, graced by Italian President Sergio Mattarella and key Ferrari executives including Chairman John Elkann and CEO Benedetto Vigna, highlights Ferrari’s commitment to blending technological innovation with environmental stewardship.
“We are honored to have President Mattarella with us for the inauguration of the e-building,” remarked Ferrari’s President, John Elkann. “This facility underscores our dedication to Italian excellence and sustainable manufacturing practices, pivotal to Ferrari’s future.”

Enhanced Production Flexibility
The e-building represents Ferrari’s strategic pivot towards quality-focused production, accommodating internal combustion engines, hybrids, and Ferrari’s inaugural electric model. This consolidation enhances operational agility, optimizing production across Maranello facilities to swiftly adapt to market demands.
Technological Advancements
Equipped with cutting-edge technology, the e-building pioneers the production of high-voltage batteries, electric motors, and axles integral to Ferrari’s next-generation vehicles. The facility’s design prioritizes energy efficiency, powered by over 3,000 solar panels generating 1.3 MW, with plans for complete renewable energy reliance by year-end.
Empowering the Workforce
Central to the e-building’s design is the well-being and skill development of Ferrari’s workforce. Advanced training facilities prepare employees for new production systems, emphasizing expertise in electric motor technologies alongside Ferrari’s traditional mechanical and electronic craftsmanship.
Community Integration and Sustainability
Beyond production, Ferrari’s commitment extends to community integration, revitalizing over 100,000 square meters of urban landscape and enhancing local infrastructure with dedicated cycling paths and optimized traffic flows around the e-building.
Architectural Innovation
Designed in collaboration with MCA – Mario Cucinella Architects, the e-building’s architecture harmonizes with its surroundings, featuring a luminous façade that maximizes natural light and minimizes environmental impact through advanced Design for Manufacturing and Assembly (DfMA) principles.
