Pretoria, South Africa; 23 October 2025 – Changan South Africa, in partnership with its official distributor Jameel Motors South Africa, has officially launched its flagship showroom in Pretoria, marking a pivotal moment in the brand’s expansion across the country. The launch event showcased Changan’s strategic positioning in the local market and unveiled its latest range of vehicles, reaffirming the company’s commitment to innovation, sustainability, and customer-focused mobility.

The Pretoria showroom is one of 25 fully trained and equipped Changan dealerships nationwide, offering sales, service, and parts support. As the network grows alongside Changan’s expanding customer base, it promises greater accessibility and convenience for drivers across South Africa. At the launch, the full spectrum of Changan’s vehicles was on display, including the Alsvin sedan, CS75 Pro SUV, Hunter Turbo Diesel, Hunter Range Extending Electric Vehicle (REEV), and Deepal S07 EV. This diverse lineup of petrol, hybrid, and electric vehicles underscores Changan’s commitment to providing South African customers with choice and flexibility in a rapidly evolving market.

Marinus Venter, Country General Manager of Jameel Motors South Africa, expressed his excitement: “Thank you to everyone who joined us today – your presence has made this launch truly special. Our customers will benefit from Changan Aftersales, a comprehensive support programme that includes service and maintenance plans, extended warranties, 24-hour roadside assistance, and access to our national dealer network. It’s our way of ensuring complete peace of mind and building trust from day one.”

Echoing this enthusiasm, Mr Xiao Feng, General Manager of Changan Automobile Middle East and Africa, said: “We are thrilled to be in South Africa with Jameel Motors as our partner. We look forward to building our legacy here and becoming an integral part of the country’s automotive landscape.”

A highlight of the event was the surprising appearance of South Africa’s first Changan owner. Martinique Lamprecht, a high school student, arrived with her father to take delivery of her brand-new Alsvin 1.5 DCT, unaware she was receiving the vehicle on this momentous day. “For me, this isn’t just my first car, it’s my freedom, my independence, and a completely new beginning,” said Lamprecht.

The launch drew key government officials, industry leaders, and media representatives. Mr Musa Khumalo, Governance and Support Officer for the City of Tshwane, and Phindile Jonas, Deputy Director of Registration and Compliance, addressed attendees. Mr Khumalo, speaking on behalf of Member of the Mayoral Committee Sarah Mabotsa, said: “The City of Tshwane is greatly honoured to host Changan’s first flagship dealership in South Africa. This is a powerful vote of confidence in our city’s infrastructure, talent, and potential. This partnership aligns with the city’s economic revitalisation strategy, aimed at strengthening the automotive sector and positioning Tshwane as a preferred destination for the industry.”

The Pretoria flagship showroom is more than just a milestone for Changan South Africa – it is a bold statement of intent. Every innovation, every customer experience, and every vehicle on display reflects the brand’s promise: Driven to Evolve. By embracing sustainability, responding to changing mobility needs, and delivering excellence at every touchpoint, Changan is poised to redefine the expectations of modern motoring for South Africans.
