SEOUL/MUNICH, September 2, 2025 – Hyundai Motor Company has revealed a new teaser image of Concept THREE, the IONIQ sub-brand’s first-ever compact EV concept, ahead of its world premiere at IAA Mobility 2025 in Munich this September. The unveiling marks Hyundai’s highly anticipated return to Europe’s leading mobility showcase after a four-year absence.
Building momentum from the initial teaser campaign released last week, Hyundai has now confirmed the model’s name as Concept THREE. The latest image offers a glimpse into the EV’s future-focused design language, capturing both its aerodynamic form and innovative proportions.
At the heart of the design is Hyundai’s Art of Steel philosophy, which draws inspiration from the strength and fluidity of steel itself. The side profile reveals an expressive stance, defined by sculpted surfaces, precise intersections, and bold character lines that convey a dynamic sense of motion. Central to this vision is the Aero Hatch typology – a reimagined compact EV silhouette that blends practicality with elegance, promising a new chapter in urban electric mobility.

“Designing the Concept THREE was an opportunity for us to rethink the compact EV from the ground up,” explained Simon Loasby, Senior Vice President and Head of Hyundai Design Center. “We defined the ‘Aero Hatch’ typology to craft a silhouette that captures a sense of flow and becomes a beautifully proportioned sculpture.”
Manuel Schoettle, exterior designer of Concept THREE, added: “The authenticity of the way we treated the steel fits perfectly. It just felt natural, making the Concept THREE extremely pure, and hopefully it will bring a smile to your face.”
Hyundai Motor will showcase Concept THREE in Munich’s IAA Open Space, offering visitors a closer look at the model and its role in shaping the future of compact electric mobility. The company will reveal further details during its press conference on September 9, ahead of the public debut running from September 9–14, 2025.
Hyundai’s return to IAA underscores its continued commitment to sustainable innovation and the European market, reinforcing the IONIQ brand’s mission to redefine electric mobility across all vehicle segments.
