After eight weeks of excitement, clues, and cross-country adventures, Hyundai Automotive South Africa has crowned the winner of its nationwide Hyundai Hunt campaign. Aruna Jimmie, 52, from Pinetown, drives away in a brand-new Hyundai EXTER, marking the thrilling conclusion of a campaign designed to celebrate 25 years of Hyundai in South Africa.

The Hyundai Hunt transformed everyday spaces into a nationwide playground, engaging thousands of participants who followed a moving digital pin, solved clever clues, and competed for daily prizes leading up to the grand prize. From bustling shopping malls to Hyundai dealerships, the campaign turned ordinary locations into hubs of discovery, connection, and fun.

For Jimmie, what started as a casual activity quickly evolved into an unforgettable journey. “What started as something fun to do turned into this incredible adventure. I was driving around, following clues, meeting people and just enjoying the experience. This stunning EXTER is going to change so much for me and my family. I sincerely thank Hyundai for creating a moment I will never forget,” she said.

The campaign was more than just a competition; it was Hyundai’s way of thanking South Africans for 25 years of loyalty. By blending technology with real-world exploration, the initiative created a unique connection between consumers and the brand, highlighting the joy of discovery and the excitement of adventure.

Sidney Francis, Dealer Principal at Hyundai Pinetown, presented the vehicle and reflected on the campaign’s impact. “This campaign was about celebrating Mzansi, the Hyundai brand and the journeys we have shared over 25 years. The winner being from here in Pinetown makes this occasion even more special. You could see just how real and meaningful this experience was for Aruna,” he said.

The Hyundai Hunt proved that even after 25 years, the brand resonates strongly with South African consumers. Hyundai Automotive South Africa recently surpassed a milestone of selling over 800,000 vehicles in the country. As a trailblazer, Hyundai became the first automotive brand in South Africa to introduce a 7-year/200,000 km warranty, setting a new benchmark for customer confidence and reliability.

With a nationwide network of 97 dealerships, Hyundai continues to strengthen its presence and influence, engaging South Africans with innovative campaigns and offering vehicles that combine reliability, style, and value. The Hyundai Hunt has not only celebrated the past but also highlighted a vibrant future for the brand in South Africa.
