Leatherhead, 10th October 2023 – Hyundai is celebrating dual success at the 2024 Carbuyer Best Car Awards after the All-new KONA and i20 N were named as the top choices in their respective classes.
The buying guide’s team of judges crowned the All-new KONA Best Small Family Car and hailed the i20 N as Best Hot Hatch after a rigorous judging process that saw every new car on the market assessed for running costs, safety, technology, performance and practicality.
The All-new KONA’s award underlines the amazing impact the model has already made, having also been crowned Car of the Year in June by Carbuyer’s sister title, Auto Express. Available to order now from £25,725, it is winning over customers and media alike thanks to its dynamic design, roomy interior, cutting-edge technology and array of powertrain options, with internal combustion engine (ICE), hybrid electric (HEV) and all-electric versions (EV) all available.
The Carbuyer judges said: “With style as well as substance, the previous Hyundai KONA was great, but this one is even better. Spacious, refined and even more upmarket, it has futuristic looks plus the choice of petrol, hybrid or electric power should you want it.”
Also recognised was the Hyundai i20 N, which picked up Carbuyer’s Best Hot Hatch award, to complement the Hot Hatch of the Year title it was afforded by WhatCar? in January. This marks the third year running that the i20 N has been crowned by Carbuyer, and as was the case in the 2022 and 2023 awards, its blend of turbocharged performance, wonderful agility and everyday usability convinced the judges. Prices for the i20 N start at £26,530.
The Carbuyer judges continued: “If you want something fast that can double as a family car, then you need to look at a hot hatchback. The Hyundai i20 N can’t be beaten; it’s an absolute riot to drive, yet it will fit into your life, no questions asked. Practical, fast and affordable, it wants for nothing.”
Hyundai’s exciting product range has earned a string of high-profile awards over the past year. In April, the Hyundai IONIQ 6 was crowned World Car of the Year, World Electric Vehicle and World Car Design of the Year, matching the performance of the Hyundai IONIQ 5 in 2022.
The IONIQ 6 was also named Saloon of the Year by GQ and Best Company Car by Autocar, while Auto Express crowned the TUCSON Best Mid-size SUV and the New i10 Best City Car. The SANTA FE was awarded Seven-seater of the Year by WhatCar?
