EL SEGUNDO, Calif., 20 June 2025 — With engines poised to scream and moviegoers bracing for the adrenaline of high-stakes racing drama, Hot Wheels® has officially pulled the covers off a collector’s dream: a limited-edition 1:64 scale die-cast car inspired by F1 The Movie, the soon-to-be-released motorsport epic starring Brad Pitt.

Modelled after the fictional Apex Grand Prix (APXGP) team and driven by Pitt’s character, Sonny Hayes, the collector-grade miniature channels the spirit of the film’s visceral, high-speed action. Launching ahead of the global theatrical release from Apple Original Films and Warner Bros. Pictures, the die-cast will be available for purchase exclusively on MattelCreations.com beginning 24 June, just days before the film roars into cinemas on 27 June in North America and 25 June internationally.

Designed with precision and reverence to the on-screen machine, the APXGP replica features the car’s authentic black and gold livery, complete with Sonny Hayes’ #7 racing number. The package also includes three sets of interchangeable Pirelli tyres, a storage rack, and a display-ready ‘Kar Keepers’ clamshell case — making it a standout piece for motorsport fans, movie buffs, and die-cast collectors alike.

“Our previous Formula 1 product launches were incredibly well received by racing fans and Hot Wheels collectors, and now we can share a piece of the collection with film lovers around the world,” said Roberto Stanichi, Executive Vice President, Hot Wheels & Global Head of Vehicles and Building Sets at Mattel. “The APXGP die-cast allows Hot Wheels to connect with a new audience of moviegoers who now have the opportunity to own a 1:64 scale piece of cinematic and racing history.”

This release follows a series of sold-out Formula 1 collaborations since Hot Wheels announced its multi-year licensing partnership with the sport in 2023. The addition of a Hollywood narrative only accelerates the momentum, marrying movie magic with motorsport heritage in classic Hot Wheels fashion.

About the Film: Speed, Rivalry, Redemption

Directed by Joseph Kosinski (Top Gun: Maverick) and produced by an all-star lineup including Jerry Bruckheimer, Plan B Entertainment, and seven-time world champion Lewis Hamilton’s Dawn Apollo Films, F1 The Movie explores the blistering world of Formula 1 through the eyes of Sonny Hayes.

A one-time prodigy of the sport, Hayes was dubbed “the greatest that never was” after a career-halting accident in the 1990s. Now in his fifties and drifting between low-tier races, he’s called back into action by former teammate Ruben Cervantes (Javier Bardem), who convinces him to join a struggling team for one final chance at glory. Racing alongside the team’s brash rookie Joshua Pearce (Damson Idris), Hayes must confront his past, rediscover his competitive fire, and navigate the perilous path of a sport where rivals are found not just on the grid, but within your own garage.

F1 The Movie will be released in theatres and IMAX® globally by Warner Bros. Pictures beginning 25 June internationally and 27 June in North America.
