Brussels, Belgium – Horse Powertrain, a global leader in innovative low-emission powertrain systems, is set to make a striking debut at Busworld Europe 2025, showcasing its latest hydrogen and range extender technologies. For the first time, the company will exhibit at Stand 705A, Hall 7, from 4–9 October at the Brussels Expo, presenting a suite of solutions designed to propel the bus and coach industry toward net-zero emissions without compromising operational performance.
At the forefront of the exhibition is the Horse M20 Hydrogen powertrain, a system engineered to combine versatility, efficiency, and sustainability. Derived from Horse Powertrain’s 2.0-liter, four-cylinder turbo diesel engine, the M20 Hydrogen produces up to 90kW of power and 300Nm of torque while emitting less than 1g of CO2 per kilometer. Its adaptable design allows seamless integration into existing vehicle architectures, making it an ideal solution for operators seeking to transition fleets to alternative fuels. Alongside its low-carbon credentials, the M20 Hydrogen meets forthcoming Euro7 standards, effectively reducing nitrogen oxide emissions without sacrificing performance.
Complementing this is the Horse H10 REX range extender, fitted to the Marcopolo Volare Attack 9 Hybrid microbus on display at the show. This compact 1.0-liter, three-cylinder petrol/ethanol engine generates 70kW of continuous electric power and supports high-voltage architectures up to 800V, enabling rapid charging. Acting as a generator, the H10 REX allows the microbus to operate at peak efficiency for longer distances, extending its 450km range while reducing overall emissions.
For larger commercial vehicles, Horse Powertrain presents the M20 REX and K15 REX systems. The M20 REX utilizes a 2.0-liter, four-cylinder engine capable of delivering 105kW of continuous electrical power, providing buses and coaches with enhanced operational flexibility for long-distance routes. Meanwhile, the K15 REX integrates a 1.5-liter, four-cylinder engine and generator, producing 65kW continuously with a peak output of 80kW. Both systems exemplify Horse Powertrain’s commitment to reliability, efficiency, and industrial leadership in the hybrid and range extender sector.

“Partnering with Marcopolo to showcase our systems within a bus platform is an exciting milestone,” said Matias Giannini, CEO of Horse Powertrain. “Our technology empowers operators to provide dependable services while supporting the transition to net zero. We see hybrid technology as a critical pathway in this journey, particularly in regions where charging infrastructure is still developing.”
Patrice Haettel, CEO of Horse Technologies, added: “Our strength lies in delivering flexible, high-performance solutions that meet global regulatory demands. Range extenders, hybrid, and hydrogen systems are central to achieving technological neutrality in transportation. By combining efficiency, resilience, and industrial expertise, we make sustainable mobility achievable for operators worldwide.”
Range extender technologies act as onboard generators, enabling vehicles to extend their operational range without relying solely on battery capacity. This feature is particularly valuable for buses and coaches operating on long-distance routes or in areas with limited charging infrastructure. Horse Powertrain’s systems therefore represent a practical, scalable bridge from traditional internal combustion engines to fully electric mobility, accelerating the transition toward sustainable, low-emission transport.
Horse Powertrain’s partnership with Marcopolo, the leading Brazilian manufacturer of buses and coaches, underscores the global relevance of these solutions. The first integration of Horse Powertrain systems will appear in the Volare Attack 9 Hybrid, scheduled for global launch in 2026, setting a benchmark for performance, reliability, and environmental responsibility.
Attendees at Busworld Europe 2025 will have the opportunity to experience firsthand how Horse Powertrain’s hydrogen and range extender systems are redefining possibilities for the bus and coach industry. From enabling cleaner, longer-range operations to supporting net-zero goals, Horse Powertrain demonstrates that the journey toward sustainable mobility can be both practical and technologically advanced.
Horse Powertrain will showcase its full range of innovative powertrain solutions at Stand 705A, Hall 7, Brussels Expo, from 4–9 October 2025.
