Las Vegas, Nevada – January 7, 2025
At CES 2025, Honda unveiled a bold new chapter in its journey toward redefining mobility with the world premiere of the Honda 0 Series prototypes: the Honda 0 Saloon and Honda 0 SUV. These groundbreaking models, set to launch globally in 2026, introduce a host of innovative technologies, including Honda’s original ASIMO OS and advanced Level 3 automated driving capabilities. With these advancements, Honda aims to pioneer mobility that is smarter, safer, and more personalized than ever.

Honda 0 Saloon: A Vision of Sophistication and Innovation

Building upon its concept model revealed at CES 2024, the Honda 0 Saloon prototype combines sleek, sporty aesthetics with a surprisingly spacious interior. Designed on a dedicated EV architecture, it epitomizes Honda’s “Thin, Light, and Wise” development ethos.

Key highlights include:

  • Level 3 Automated Driving: Honda continues its leadership in automated driving with eyes-off functionality, allowing drivers to safely engage in secondary tasks during specific driving conditions.
  • Ultra-Personal Optimization: Powered by the ASIMO OS, the Honda 0 Saloon offers a mobility experience tailored to each user, adapting to individual preferences for comfort, entertainment, and safety.

The Honda 0 Saloon will debut in North America in 2026, with subsequent launches planned for Japan and Europe.

Honda 0 SUV: Space Reimagined

Based on the Space-Hub concept introduced at CES 2024, the Honda 0 SUV redefines the mid-size EV category. Its design prioritizes a clear, open cabin environment and advanced dynamic capabilities.

Notable features include:

  • Spacious Cabin: Achieved through Honda’s “Thin, Light, and Wise” approach, offering an unmatched sense of openness.
  • 3D Gyro-Based Stability: Drawing on Honda’s robotics expertise, the SUV ensures seamless control across diverse terrains.

Set to hit the North American market in early 2026, the Honda 0 SUV will expand globally soon after.

ASIMO OS: The Heart of Honda’s Smart Mobility

At the core of the Honda 0 Series lies the ASIMO OS, an intelligent operating system inspired by Honda’s iconic humanoid robot. This groundbreaking software platform integrates control of vehicle systems such as automated driving (AD), advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS), and in-vehicle infotainment (IVI).

Key capabilities of ASIMO OS include:

  • Continuous Updates via OTA: Over-the-air updates ensure vehicles remain at the forefront of technological advancements, enhancing user experience and functionality post-purchase.
  • Integrated Dynamics: Delivers a driving experience where the car feels like an extension of the driver.

Level 3 Automation: Redefining Driving Freedom

Honda is pushing the boundaries of automated driving with its commitment to making eyes-off technology available in all driving scenarios. Building on its pioneering work with the 2021 Honda Legend, Honda envisions a future where automation not only enhances convenience but also contributes to its goal of zero traffic fatalities.

Innovations include:

  • AI-Enhanced AD: Leveraging Honda AI and unsupervised learning to expand the range of automated driving scenarios.
  • Cooperative AI: Designed to navigate complex social interactions on the road, such as yielding and merging, with precision.

Through the Honda 0 Series, drivers can look forward to unparalleled convenience, including the ability to watch movies or join virtual meetings while en route.

Next-Generation SoC Development with Renesas

Honda’s collaboration with Renesas Electronics Corporation marks a major step in advancing software-defined vehicles (SDVs). Together, they are developing a high-performance system-on-chip (SoC) tailored for the Honda 0 Series.

Features of the next-gen SoC include:

  • Centralized ECU Architecture: Consolidates multiple vehicle systems into a single core ECU, enhancing efficiency and reducing power consumption.
  • Industry-Leading AI Performance: Achieves 2,000 TOPS (Tera Operations Per Second) with an impressive power efficiency of 20 TOPS/W.

Driving Toward the Future

Honda’s vision for the Honda 0 Series reflects its commitment to innovation, safety, and sustainability. By integrating cutting-edge technologies like the ASIMO OS and advanced AI-driven automation, Honda is setting the stage for a future where vehicles are not just modes of transport but personalized, adaptive, and intelligent companions.

As the Honda 0 Series begins its journey to market in 2026, it promises to redefine the possibilities of electric and autonomous mobility, opening a new era for Honda and its customers worldwide.
