Staff at the Honda (UK) head office came out in force today to support Ride to Work Day and to take part in a range of two-wheel activities.
A huge number of riders rode their diverse Honda machines into the company’s head office near Slough. Everything from an early Honda Africa Twin, right through to the current 2012 CBR1000RR Fireblade came through the gates, with many riders quick to highlight the benefits of riding to work – including reduced journey time and added grin factor – whilst enforcing the message that taking your bike to work can make your daily commute fun.
Everyone gathered for a group photograph and ‘bikers’ breakfast’, including non-rider colleagues from both the car and power equipment areas of the business. Throughout the day, many more staff took the opportunity to experience life on two wheels for the first time ever, by choosing to take the advantage of a ‘have a go’ riding experience organised by Honda in its large car park area, transformed into a motorcycle training school for the day.
More experienced riders also had the opportunity to try out some of Honda’s ‘bigger bike’ commuter machines on the roads around the local area, including the NC700X, NC700S, and Crosstourer; providing Honda employees a chance to sample a selection of the Honda range and perhaps choose their next bike.
There was also a celebrity visit to Honda from two members of the band Blake, Stephen Bowman and Humphrey Berney, who stopped in en-route to the Albert Hall as part of their Ride to Work Day promotional activity and took the opportunity to sample the Honda NC700S and Crosstourer respectively during a group ride out session.
