Hispano Suiza, a name synonymous with luxury, innovation, and heritage, is making a grand return to the United States to participate in the prestigious Monterey Car Week. This illustrious event, taking place from August 9 to 18 in California, is the pinnacle of the summer season’s motoring calendar. The historic Spanish automobile brand will be showcasing its latest marvel, the Carmen Sagrera, along with the iconic 1938 Hispano Suiza Xenia Dubonnet, at The Quail, ‘A Motorsport Gathering’.

The Carmen Sagrera: A Modern Marvel
The Hispano Suiza Carmen Sagrera is set to make a spectacular debut at The Quail, capturing the attention of the American public. This hypercar, designed to commemorate the company’s 120th anniversary, boasts an impressive 1,114 horsepower and a 103 kWh battery, embodying the perfect blend of history and cutting-edge technology. The Carmen Sagrera is a testament to Hispano Suiza’s enduring legacy and its commitment to innovation.

A Showcase of Heritage and Innovation
Sharing the spotlight with the Carmen Sagrera is the 1938 Hispano Suiza Xenia Dubonnet, a symbol of the brand’s rich heritage and a source of inspiration for the current range of hypercars. The Xenia Dubonnet, built on the chassis of the Hispano-Suiza H6B and designed by the aerodynamics expert Jean Andreau with a body handcrafted by Jacques Saoutchik, was one of the most extravagant and aerodynamic cars of its era. This historical masterpiece will be displayed at the Hispano Suiza stand, providing a striking contrast to the futuristic Carmen Sagrera.

The Quail: A Motorsport Gathering
The Quail, ‘A Motorsport Gathering’, is one of the highlights of Monterey Car Week, attracting collectors, enthusiasts, and celebrities from around the world. The Hispano Suiza stand will not only feature the Carmen Sagrera and the Xenia Dubonnet but also include a merchandising area showcasing the brand’s new Capsule Collection, a hospitality area, and an exhibition space. A press conference on August 16 at 11:00 am (local time) will officially present the Carmen Sagrera, marking a significant milestone for Hispano Suiza.

Celebrating 120 Years of Excellence
The 120th anniversary of Hispano Suiza will be further honored with an exclusive exhibition in the Chairman’s Lounge. This milestone reflects the brand’s enduring legacy and its impact on the automotive industry. Sergio Martínez Campos, CEO of Hispano Suiza, expressed his excitement, stating, “Presenting the Carmen Sagrera in the United States on our 120th anniversary is a significant milestone for us. We couldn’t imagine a better setting than Monterey Car Week, and specifically, The Quail.”

Industry Talk at Bonhams Auction House
Adding to the celebration, Hispano Suiza is sponsoring an industry talk at the Bonhams auction house in Carmel on the evening of August 15. In partnership with the Petersen Museum in Los Angeles, this conference will focus on the evolution of the electric hypercar industry and the significance of Hispano Suiza’s anniversary. The event will feature key speakers, including Sergio Martínez Campos and Juan Fernández, CTO of the brand.

About Hispano Suiza
Founded in Barcelona in 1904 by Damián Mateu, with the help of engineer Marc Birkigt, Hispano Suiza has been a symbol of luxury and performance for over a century. The brand produced more than 12,000 high-performance luxury vehicles and 50,000 aircraft engines between 1904 and 1946. In 2019, Hispano Suiza unveiled the Carmen, a 100% electric hypercar, followed by the Carmen Boulogne in 2020. The Carmen Sagrera, introduced in 2024, continues this legacy, embodying the Gentleman Driver concept and setting the future design direction for the brand.

Hispano Suiza’s participation in Monterey Car Week 2024 marks a significant chapter in its illustrious history. By showcasing both the Carmen Sagrera and the Xenia Dubonnet, the brand celebrates its past while embracing the future of automotive innovation. This event not only honors 120 years of excellence but also underscores Hispano Suiza’s commitment to providing unique experiences and continuing its legacy of luxury and performance.
