The Hispano Suiza Carmen Sagrera takes center stage in the new Prime Video series Day One, set in the vibrant city of Barcelona during the Mobile World Congress. The hypercar is driven by Diskin, portrayed by actor Jordi Mollà, a technology entrepreneur whose character embodies the transformative potential and risks of innovation in a digital age.
Unveiled in 2024 to celebrate Hispano Suiza's 120th anniversary, the Carmen Sagrera seamlessly integrates into the series' narrative, reflecting a world where advanced mobility and cutting-edge technology converge. Its presence emphasizes the connection between design, performance, and the city of Barcelona itself, a hub for innovation and technological advancement.
Day One follows Ulises Albet, played by Álex González, a computer prodigy who returns to Barcelona after a decade to confront a new technological threat with far-reaching consequences for humanity. The story unfolds across some of Barcelona's most iconic technological sites, including the Barcelona Supercomputing Center, ALBA Synchrotron, Talent Arena, Collserola Tower, Pompeu Fabra University, Torre Glòries, and the 22@ district. These locations transform the city into a character in its own right, a stage where humanity and technology coexist in constant tension.
The six-episode series, directed by Marta Pahissa and Víctor Cuadrado with a script by Cristina Pons, Luis Arranz, Luis Moreno, and Juan Salvador López, brings together an ensemble cast including Alba Planas, Asier Etxeandia, Renata Notni, Iván Massagué, and a special appearance by Mireia Oriol. Produced by Zebra Producciones, NewCo Audiovisual, and Documentales en Canarias S.L., with the Barcelona Mobile World Capital Foundation as associate producer and 3Cat as participating producer, Day One explores the delicate balance between innovation and responsibility.
The Carmen Sagrera reinforces the series' themes of technological evolution and advanced mobility, visually embodying Hispano Suiza's commitment to innovation. "For our brand, being part of Day One means bringing a vehicle that represents our technological vision and commitment to innovation to screens around the world," said Sergio Martínez Campos, CEO of Hispano Suiza. "Participating in a production set at the Mobile World Congress reinforces that natural connection with the global ecosystem of technology and the mobility of the future."
During Mobile World Congress 2026, Hispano Suiza supported the launch of Day One with a series of activations in Barcelona, showcasing the Carmen Sagrera in the Talent Arena and hosting a round table discussion on innovation, regulation, and cybersecurity in the automotive sector. The official premieres of the series in Barcelona and Madrid further cemented the hypercar's role in the story and its integration into the cultural and audiovisual landscape.
Hispano Suiza, a historic Spanish automobile brand founded in 1904 in Barcelona, continues to combine heritage with innovation. The Carmen Sagrera, part of the brand’s electric hypercar lineup, redefines the concept of the Gentleman Driver and signals the company’s future design direction, offering exclusive high-performance vehicles with unparalleled customization.
Day One premieres globally on Prime Video on March 13, 2026, bringing the Hispano Suiza Carmen Sagrera—and the spirit of Barcelona's technological innovation—to audiences worldwide.
