Barcelona – The historic collaboration between Hispano Suiza and Michelin reaches new heights with the launch of the Carmen Sagrera, the most advanced hypercar in the brand’s illustrious history. Marking the company’s 120th anniversary, the Carmen Sagrera is a 100% electric marvel, combining breathtaking performance with exquisite craftsmanship, and Michelin plays a pivotal role in making that vision a reality.
Hispano Suiza has chosen Michelin as the exclusive tyre partner for the Carmen Sagrera, ensuring that every component—from the powertrain to the tyres—performs at the peak of engineering excellence. The Carmen Sagrera delivers 1,114 hp and 1,160 Nm of torque, accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in just 2.6 seconds, and it requires tyres that can match this extraordinary level of performance.
To meet these demands, Hispano Suiza worked closely with Michelin to develop a bespoke version of the Michelin Pilot Sport 4S. Customised for the Carmen Sagrera, the tyres measure 265/30 ZR19 on the front axle and 305/30 ZR20 on the rear, offering not only unrivalled grip and stability but also luxurious touches like the Velvet Touch finish on the sidewalls—a technology giving the tyre a soft, velvety feel. The aesthetic detailing, inspired by Hispano Suiza’s iconic stork emblem and the mosaics of Catalan architect Antoni Gaudí, underscores the brand’s commitment to heritage and exclusivity.
“Tyres are a key component in any vehicle, but even more so in a hypercar with the performance capabilities of the Carmen Sagrera,” said Sergio Martínez Campos, CEO of Hispano Suiza. “Thanks to Michelin, our customers can enjoy the magnificent dynamic capabilities of our vehicles, both on the track and on the road.”
Lorenzo Giovanelli, Director of Original Equipment for Specialised Manufacturers at Michelin, added: “We are delighted to renew our historic partnership with Hispano Suiza through the Carmen Sagrera. The development of a customised MICHELIN Pilot Sport 4S tyre for this model reflects Michelin’s pioneering spirit, which brings technologies developed in motorsport to the most innovative projects. Together, we continue to push the boundaries of technology, safety, and driving pleasure.”
The Hispano Suiza–Michelin partnership dates back to the 1920s and 1930s, when Hispano Suiza vehicles were fitted with Michelin tyres to guarantee both performance and reliability for discerning customers and racing drivers alike. Today, Michelin tyres equip every vehicle in the Hispano Suiza lineup and feature prominently at prestigious global events, including California’s Monterey Car Week and the Goodwood Festival of Speed. The collaboration also benefits from Michelin’s Engineering & Services department, enabling ongoing optimisation and refinement of Hispano Suiza vehicles.

A Legacy of Innovation and Excellence
Founded in Barcelona in 1904 by Damián Mateu and engineer Marc Birkigt, Hispano Suiza quickly became synonymous with high-performance luxury vehicles and advanced aircraft engines. After producing more than 12,000 automobiles and 50,000 aircraft engines by 1946, the brand was revived in 2019 by Miguel Suqué Mateu, the founder’s great-grandson. Today, under the leadership of CEO Sergio Martínez Campos, Hispano Suiza continues to deliver exclusive, highly personalised electric hypercars.
The Carmen Sagrera completes the brand’s electric hypercar range alongside the Carmen (2019) and the Carmen Boulogne (2020), redefining the concept of the Gentleman Driver and setting the future design language for Hispano Suiza. Every detail, from performance engineering to design artistry, reflects a philosophy of bespoke excellence.

The Carmen Sagrera is more than a hypercar—it is the embodiment of a century-long partnership, where Michelin’s technical mastery and Hispano Suiza’s dedication to luxury, performance, and design converge, creating a vehicle that is as exhilarating on the track as it is iconic on the road.
