In a landmark achievement for the Western Cape and Hino South Africa’s dealer network, Hino Kuilsrivier has been crowned the prestigious Hino Dealer of the Year for 2024. This milestone marks the first time the dealership has reached the pinnacle of national recognition, underscoring years of consistent excellence in sales, parts, and service.

Reflecting on the accolade, Dealer Principal Ryno Olivier said, “This achievement symbolises years of dedication and relentless pursuit of excellence — it’s a defining moment for our team.” Under Olivier’s leadership, the dealership has evolved into a benchmark of quality, operational efficiency, and customer satisfaction.

A Rigorous Path to Excellence

The South African Hino Dealer of the Year Award, established over two decades ago, remains one of the most highly prized honours in the commercial vehicle industry. It is not simply an award for sales figures, but a comprehensive recognition of a dealership’s holistic performance. Each Hino dealer is evaluated monthly against a stringent set of metrics, spanning customer service, environmental protection, financial health, and operational efficiency across sales, parts, and service departments.

The awards structure itself forms a pyramid, where dealerships first compete within size categories before advancing through the Vice President and President Awards, ultimately culminating in the coveted Dealer of the Year title. What distinguishes this accolade is its focus on embodying the Hino ethos of integrity, contribution, and empathy — principles that guide every aspect of dealer operations with the goal of delivering unmatched customer experiences nationwide.

Excellence Rooted in Continuous Improvement

“Our approach at Hino Kuilsrivier has never been about chasing awards such as Dealer of the Year,” Olivier emphasised. “Instead, we focus on continuously refining our operations across all departments while keeping customer satisfaction as our core priority. This victory is the culmination of that unwavering commitment — a true testament to the hard work and passion of our team.”

Since 2017, Hino Kuilsrivier has undergone a significant transformation aligned with Hino South Africa’s Total Support strategy. An investment exceeding R23 million upgraded the dealership’s infrastructure, positioning it as a strategic hub within the Western Cape’s bustling industrial corridor. The renovations included expanding service and parts capacities with the introduction of nine cutting-edge work bays — featuring diagnostic and engine repair facilities, brake roller testers, and more — all designed to ensure every vehicle serviced meets the highest safety standards.

Operational Excellence and Customer Commitment

The dealership’s focus on operational efficiency is evident in its extended service hours, including night servicing twice a week, accommodating an average throughput of 25 vehicles per day. Complementing this is a 24-hour standby service team ready to provide uninterrupted support, alongside a mobile service fleet covering vast areas as far as Clanwilliam and Bredasdorp. Off-site service options cater to large fleet clients, with vehicle inspections commencing as early as 06h00 daily, reinforcing the dealership’s commitment to convenience and reliability.

A Culture of Expertise and Community Engagement

Led by Olivier, whose 22 years of experience at the dealership imbue him with invaluable insight, the Hino Kuilsrivier team is a close-knit group of 40 professionals. A strong culture of loyalty and continuous development ensures that staff remain at the forefront of industry standards and customer care.

Beyond operational success, Hino Kuilsrivier actively supports the local community through sponsorships of schools and an old age home, exemplifying the dealership’s deep-rooted commitment to social responsibility.

“I’m immensely proud of our dedicated team and our community involvement,” Olivier concluded. “Achieving — and now defending — the Hino Dealer of the Year trophy reflects our relentless pursuit of excellence.”

A Defining Moment for Hino Kuilsrivier

The 2024 Dealer of the Year award is more than a trophy; it is a powerful affirmation of Hino Kuilsrivier’s dedication to customer satisfaction, operational excellence, and community partnership. As the dealership sets a new benchmark for industry peers, it reinforces its position not just as a sales and service leader but as a vital partner in South Africa’s commercial vehicle landscape.

With this historic win, Hino Kuilsrivier steps confidently into the future, ready to uphold the values and standards that earned it national acclaim.
