Milton Keynes, UK, 09 May 2025 – Helix, a global leader in high-performance electric powertrain systems, has taken a bold step in its strategic growth journey by appointing seasoned industry expert Warren Roberts as Chief Operating Officer. This move comes as the company broadens its footprint across key emerging electrification markets, including marine and aerospace, while continuing to serve high-end automotive and motorsport sectors.
Warren Roberts joins Helix—trading under the name Integral Powertrain Ltd—with an impressive pedigree in operational leadership and engineering. Most recently, he helmed the composites division at Prodrive, where for eight years he guided high-performance teams through complex, fast-paced engineering programmes. His appointment marks a pivotal moment in Helix’s evolution, as the company looks to scale production and diversify its product offering.
“Warren brings a wealth of operational and commercial experience to Helix,” said Darren Cairn, CEO of Helix. “His track record of delivering results in technically demanding environments will be invaluable as we expand our product portfolio and accelerate our international growth. His appointment reinforces our commitment to delivering world-class electric powertrain solutions at scale, not only to the automotive and motorsport industries but to sectors that are just beginning their electrification journeys.”
Roberts’ previous roles include Group Manufacturing Director at JCB, Managing Director at MAHLE UK, and head of the precision engineering division at Alumasc. His deep understanding of complex engineering systems and large-scale operations will support Helix as it transitions from niche innovation to high-volume production.

“This is an exciting moment to be joining Helix,” Roberts said. “The company’s electric motor and inverter technologies are already reshaping performance expectations in multiple sectors. My focus will be on delivering against our ambitious growth strategy by ensuring our products not only meet but exceed customer expectations across all industries we serve.”
The leadership expansion follows another major milestone earlier this year with the appointment of Dr. Mike Bolen as Director for North America, reinforcing Helix’s commitment to growing its global presence and servicing key international markets.
Operating from its global headquarters and cutting-edge manufacturing facility in Milton Keynes, Helix is recognised for developing the world’s most power-dense electric motors and inverters. Its scalable solutions are designed and built entirely in-house, with applications already making waves across high-performance electric mobility markets. These include Formula E, next-generation hypercars such as the Czinger 21c and Aston Martin Valkyrie, advanced eVTOL aircraft, space propulsion systems, high-performance motorcycles, and electric watercraft competing in the E1 Race Series.
As Helix continues to lead the charge in electric propulsion innovation, Roberts’ appointment signals a sharpened focus on operational excellence and cross-sector growth—cementing the company’s position at the forefront of the electrification revolution.
