Barcelona, March 3, 2025 – At the forefront of automotive technology, HARMAN, a subsidiary of Samsung Electronics, has introduced Ready Aware at MWC Barcelona 2025. This innovative vehicle-to-cloud software service redefines driver safety by delivering real-time, contextual alerts that enhance situational awareness at intersections and around a variety of road hazards. Available to OEMs for both new and existing connected vehicles across North America, Europe, and India, Ready Aware promises to revolutionize in-vehicle experiences and empower drivers with the critical information they need to make safer, more informed decisions on the road.

‘Sight Beyond Sight’ – Empowering Safer Driving Decisions

Ready Aware provides a digital solution that enhances a driver’s awareness beyond the capabilities of traditional onboard sensors. By offering ‘sight beyond sight,’ it gives drivers crucial insights about potential hazards, even when they are outside the car’s direct line of sight. From objects in the road to stationary vehicles and sudden congestion, Ready Aware’s real-time alerts provide drivers with critical data to avoid dangerous situations at intersections and on the road ahead.

HARMAN’s scalable, secure vehicle-to-network (V2N) architecture ensures that this technology is not only effective but also seamless to integrate. OEMs can deploy Ready Aware quickly, either via over-the-air (OTA) updates to existing connected vehicles or directly into new models. The solution is designed to be future-proof, making it easy to support new, latency-sensitive use cases as connected vehicle technology continues to evolve.

Precision and Confidence with a Unique ‘Confidence Engine’

At the heart of Ready Aware’s capabilities is its powerful analytics engine, which utilizes machine learning and digital twins to ensure accuracy and reduce false positives. By creating and assigning a confidence score to each potential hazard, Ready Aware refines the system’s decision-making process. This feature not only improves the quality of alerts but also enhances the driver’s experience by providing more precise information, ensuring that only relevant and timely warnings are delivered.

The system’s ability to automate the entire experience allows drivers to maintain focus on the road ahead, reducing distractions while ensuring a safer journey. With less noise from false alerts, drivers can rely on Ready Aware’s insight to navigate with confidence and precision.

A New Era of Collaboration with HERE Technologies

HARMAN is also proud to announce its collaboration with HERE Technologies, a leader in location data and mapping. Together, they are developing vehicle-to-everything (V2X) solutions that will support Euro NCAP 2026 driver assistance requirements, further solidifying Ready Aware’s position as an essential tool for enhancing road safety. Through this partnership, HARMAN and HERE Technologies are advancing road alerts for accident notifications, stationary vehicles, and wrong-way drivers, all while enabling compliance with the latest automotive safety standards.

“HARMAN and HERE share a common goal: to improve driver safety while supporting OEMs in meeting the evolving Euro NCAP requirements,” said Anssi Saarimäki, Senior Director of Product Management at HERE Technologies. “Through this collaboration, we aim to deliver dynamic, accurate road alerts that can help prevent accidents and reduce the risks associated with poor situational awareness.”

Seamless Integration and Scalability

One of the standout features of Ready Aware is its scalability and ease of deployment. This hardware-agnostic solution works across both 4G and 5G networks, as well as Android and Linux operating systems, making it compatible with a wide range of vehicle types. The software-as-a-service (SaaS) model allows OEMs to integrate Ready Aware into their fleets efficiently, while ensuring long-term viability as future automotive technologies emerge.

Ready Aware’s adaptability is also evident in its integration with other HARMAN products, such as the Ready Connect 5G Telematics Control Unit (TCU) and Ready Vision, an immersive audio-visual solution. The combination of these technologies ensures that alerts are not only received but are communicated in a way that fits seamlessly into the driving experience, providing the right information at the right time and enhancing driver awareness.

Transforming the Driving Experience

As part of HARMAN’s broader mission to revolutionize mobility, Ready Aware exemplifies the company’s vision for safer, more intelligent vehicles. The technology leverages years of expertise in connected car systems to create a solution that doesn’t just inform, but also transforms the driving experience, making it smarter, more intuitive, and deeply connected.

“With Ready Aware, HARMAN is enhancing the way drivers interact with their vehicles, making them more aware of their surroundings, more confident on the road, and more in control of their safety,” said Suman Sehra, Global Vice President of Connectivity Portfolio Management at HARMAN. “Our goal is to support OEMs in bringing innovative solutions to market that elevate the driver experience and contribute to safer, smarter roads.”

HARMAN is showcasing Ready Aware at MWC Barcelona 2025, where visitors can explore how this transformative technology is set to reshape the automotive landscape. Ready Aware is part of HARMAN’s suite of connected technologies that are helping to redefine what it means to drive in the 21st century.
