LAS VEGAS – January 7, 2025 – HARMAN, a global leader in automotive technology and a subsidiary of Samsung Electronics, is once again leading the charge in reshaping the in-car experience. At CES 2025, the company unveiled a series of new strategic alliances that are accelerating the transformation of the automotive industry. With a commitment to its “Consumer Experiences. Automotive Grade.” value proposition, HARMAN is pushing the boundaries of what is possible, bringing intelligence, empathy, and contextual awareness to the driving experience.

The automotive industry has long been on the brink of a revolution, but with the latest collaborations announced at CES 2025, HARMAN is making this transformation a reality. Through partnerships with Cerence AI, HL Klemove, Samsung, Miovision, Qualcomm, and Gentherm, HARMAN is creating intelligent, adaptive, and emotionally intelligent in-vehicle experiences that anticipate the needs of consumers and automakers alike.

Ushering in a New Era of Intelligent, Empathetic Journeys
HARMAN’s collaboration with Cerence AI is set to redefine the future of in-car interaction. At CES 2025, HARMAN launched the “Luna” avatar, powered by Ready Engage – the company’s new emotionally intelligent AI system. This breakthrough technology goes beyond traditional in-car interfaces, creating a seamless connection between driver, passengers, and the vehicle. The Luna avatar, powered by Ready Engage, integrates with Cerence’s voice assistant platform and responds naturally to voice and visual cues, fostering a sense of empathy and personalized interaction.

The system adapts to the individual, offering a more human-like experience that not only anticipates needs but responds with contextual awareness. It transforms how consumers engage with their cars, creating an emotionally resonant bond between occupants and their vehicle.

Moreover, the collaboration further enhances HARMAN’s Ready Link Marketplace – an ecosystem designed to empower developers to create personalized, in-car applications. Through integration with Cerence AI’s CaLLM™ Edge, a small language model (SLM) optimized for automotive applications, developers can create secure, customized experiences while maintaining data privacy. The integration offers a streamlined interface for creating applications that seamlessly bring the content consumers love into the vehicle.

Uniting Advanced Driver Assistance and In-Cabin Experiences
HARMAN’s commitment to delivering the best in-cabin experiences goes hand-in-hand with its work on advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS). In partnership with HL Klemove, the companies are developing a light central compute unit (CCU) that integrates HARMAN’s Ready Upgrade cockpit domain controller with HL Klemove’s Level 2 ADAS software stack and sensor set. The collaboration aims to deliver a comprehensive solution that brings together cockpit and ADAS features in one seamless, adaptable platform.

This unified solution offers automakers the flexibility to customize features while significantly reducing time to market. As the automotive industry demands increasingly sophisticated in-vehicle experiences, HARMAN and HL Klemove’s collaboration is setting the stage for the next wave of intelligent, connected vehicles.

Delivering Exceptional Consumer Experiences with Cutting-Edge Display Technology
Drawing on Samsung’s consumer electronics expertise, HARMAN is pushing the limits of in-cabin display technology. The Ready Display product line, powered by Samsung Neo QLED, brings industry-first automotive-qualified Quantum Dot technology into vehicles, offering a cinematic viewing experience with stunning visuals and intelligent algorithms. The addition of Blue Mini LED-based local dimming ensures enhanced brightness and contrast, elevating the in-cabin experience to a level previously unseen in the automotive sector.

At CES 2025, HARMAN and Samsung also revealed the co-development of the HDR10+ automotive standard, with Ready Display being the industry’s first HDR10+-compliant product. This collaboration will set a new benchmark for automotive display performance, ushering in a new era of visual excellence in the car.

Harnessing Near Real-Time Technology for Safety and Wellness
HARMAN’s focus on safety and wellness continues to drive innovation with the launch of HARMAN Ready Aware. This vehicle-to-network (V2N)-based SaaS solution is designed to enhance situational awareness by providing contextual alerts, including time to green and red-light assist, in collaboration with Miovision, a global leader in intelligent traffic solutions. By delivering intelligent alerts in real-time, Ready Aware helps drivers navigate intersections and road hazards, promoting safer driving experiences.

Further advancing connectivity, HARMAN’s collaboration with Qualcomm Technologies, Inc. has produced the Ready Connect 5G telematics control unit (TCU), which is set to redefine automotive connectivity. This innovative solution, based on Snapdragon® Auto 5G Modem-RF Gen 2, enables satellite communication for emergency messaging, delivering unprecedented coverage and enabling services in remote locations.

Personalized In-Cabin Interventions for Enhanced Comfort and Safety
In collaboration with Gentherm, a global leader in thermal management technologies, HARMAN continues to innovate in personalized comfort. The HARMAN Ready Care system, which measures cognitive load and vital signals, is now integrated with Gentherm’s WellSense™ technology. This collaboration provides personalized in-cabin interventions such as seat-based heating and cooling, tailored to the driver’s level of stress, distraction, or drowsiness.

The system dynamically adapts to the driver’s needs, offering real-time comfort interventions to enhance safety, reduce fatigue, and improve overall well-being during the journey.

Better Together: Leading the Way in Future-Ready In-Cabin Innovation
As HARMAN continues to build on its legacy of automotive innovation, it is clear that collaboration is the key to shaping the future of the industry. By working with leading innovators across tech and automotive sectors, HARMAN is turning cars into intelligent, empathetic companions that understand and respond to the needs of their occupants.

With CES 2025 showcasing the latest in intelligent in-car experiences, HARMAN is once again proving that when industry leaders come together, the possibilities are endless. Through the power of collective intelligence and cutting-edge technology, HARMAN is leading the way in creating future-ready vehicles that will redefine the driving experience.
