Johannesburg, Gauteng (December 18, 2024) – As 2024 comes to a close, GWM South Africa reflects on a year defined by innovation, growth, and meaningful community involvement. With nearly 20,000 vehicles sold this year, GWM has not only solidified its position as a key player in the South African automotive market but has also demonstrated its commitment to making a positive impact beyond the showroom floor.
Stronger Together: A Year of Collaboration and Success
The foundation of GWM’s 2024 success lies in the collaboration within its South African operations and the broader communities it serves. While vehicle sales are a testament to the brand’s growing popularity, GWM has gone beyond financial performance to focus on social responsibility and environmental sustainability. By partnering with non-profit organisations, the company has addressed pressing local challenges and fostered sustainable practices for future generations.
The GWM & Youngage Foundation Santa Box Initiative
A highlight of GWM’s community outreach this year was its collaboration with the Youngage Foundation on the Santa Box initiative. This project aimed to support underprivileged schoolchildren at Leratadima Primary School in Thokoza, Gauteng. Recognising that education begins with confidence and comfort, GWM gifted new school shoes to young learners, empowering them to step into the future with pride. The initiative embodies GWM’s vision of a South Africa where every child has the tools they need to thrive academically and personally.

Supporting Botshabelo Children’s Home
GWM’s dedication to community upliftment extended to the Botshabelo Children’s Home in Midrand. Employees came together to purchase, package, and deliver essential pantry supplies, ensuring the home’s young residents could enjoy a festive holiday season without worry. This initiative reflects GWM’s belief that empowering local organisations through targeted efforts can drive meaningful change and strengthen the communities it serves.
A Commitment to a Brighter Future
For GWM, corporate social initiatives are not mere acts of generosity but strategic efforts to empower individuals and communities. As Kevin Lee, Managing Director of GWM South Africa, explains:
“At GWM, we are deeply committed to making a difference. These Corporate Social Initiatives are not just about giving back, but about creating a lasting impact that empowers individuals, strengthens communities, and helps us all move towards a more sustainable future. We are excited to roll out these initiatives and invite others to join us in this important mission.”
Looking Ahead with Gratitude
As GWM South Africa celebrates a remarkable year, the company extends its heartfelt thanks to its customers, partners, and employees who have made 2024 a year to remember. With a clear vision for growth and community empowerment, GWM remains steadfast in its mission to drive progress both on and off the road.
From all of us at GWM South Africa, we wish you a happy and safe holiday season.
