On April 12, 2024, GWM ORA announced the launch of an innovative in-house battery inspection and evaluation program in the UK. This initiative, aimed at bolstering aftersales service and aiding third-party repairers, features a specialized technical team dedicated to providing onsite assistance. This team will deliver expert advice on the condition and repairability of traction batteries following customer reports of vehicular accidents or collisions.
This endeavor by GWM ORA is designed to reduce the premature disposal of batteries that have sustained minimal, often only cosmetic, damage due to minor incidents. The company’s technical specialists will conduct thorough assessments of the batteries’ status, arranging for the vehicle’s safe transportation and refurbishment in accordance with the manufacturer’s standards when necessary.
In this initiative, GWM ORA is backed by its long-standing distributor partner in the UK, International Motors Limited (IML), renowned for its extensive experience in supporting various automotive brands in aspects ranging from aftersales services to sales and marketing. Leveraging IML’s expansive network, including in-house workshops and logistics centers across the UK, GWM ORA’s battery assessment and refurbishment program has been swiftly implemented and is now accessible through the GWM ORA UK aftersales team.

Toby Marshall, Managing Director of GWM ORA UK, highlighted the advantages of operating within the International Motors Infrastructure, noting the streamlined launch process in the UK and the initiative’s role in providing additional support to key stakeholders, including the battery support program.
The new battery initiative is not only a testament to GWM ORA’s commitment to environmental sustainability by minimizing unnecessary battery waste but also complements the brand’s strong eco-friendly reputation. Earlier in the year, GWM ORA’s flagship product, ORA 03, was recognized for its environmental efficiency by Green NCAP, securing top ratings and winning awards in the ‘Small Family Car’ and ‘Full Electric Car’ categories.
GWM ORA has expanded its ORA 03 model offerings in the UK with two variants, PURE+ and PRO+, as part of a broader brand strategy. These models are available for lease and come with high specifications, including advanced technology features and enhanced battery capacities, catering to a wide range of customer preferences.
Marking a significant milestone, GWM ORA has successfully placed 1,000 vehicles on UK roads within just over a year of operations. The brand continues to expand its retail infrastructure, partnering with 18 trusted retail outlets to enhance its presence and service capabilities in the UK market.
